  • Patent number: 5137408
Abstract: A fastening device comprises a pin-shaped fastener having an axis, and means for tightening and loosening the fastener, the tightening and loosening unit including one element provided with first connecting means for connecting the one element with the fastener and also provided with second connecting means, and another element provided with third connecting means cooperating with the second connecting means of the one element for connecting the other element with the one element, so that when a rotary force is applied to at least one of the elements, the elements are shifted coaxially in opposite axial directions and the fastener is displaced in an axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4183312
Abstract: A sewing machine has a main drive shaft to which is drivingly coupled the output member of a coupling motor unit, the latter including an electric motor having a constantly rotating output shaft, a braking structure, and electrically controlled electromagnets for causing the output member to engage and become disengaged from the output shaft and the braking structure to increase and decrease the rpm of the main drive shaft of the machine. An rpm regulator has first and second inputs for receipt of a desired-rpm command signal and an actual-rpm feedback signal. The actual-rpm feedback signal is generated using a pole wheel rotating synchronously with the sewing-machine drive shaft and a plurality of pick-up transducers spaced along the pole-wheel periphery. During pole-wheel rotation, an A.C. voltage is induced in each such pick-up transducer. The spacing of the transducers relative to the spacing of the poles of the pole wheel is such that these induced voltages are phase-shifted relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 4181163
Abstract: A kitchen appliance, such as a meat grinder, a vegetable slicer, or the like, includes a housing which has a protrusion on its front side, such protrusion constituting an outlet through which a processed food emerges from the interior of the housing to its exterior. A cover is mounted on the housing in a protective position in which it covers the front surface of the housing in its entirety, including the protrusion. The housing has a base which rests on a support surface and has an extension projecting forwardly beyond the front surface of the housing proper and the cover has a circumferential wall formed with a cutout in which the extension of the base is accommodated in the protective position of the cover. The cover is usable as a receiving container for the processed food emerging from the protrusion of the housing. In the latter instance, it assumes an extended position in which it is supported on the support surface and a depression thereof receives the extension of the base.
