    Abstract: An ink tank cartridge is provided removably mountable onto an ink supply needle of the ink-jet type recording apparatus body. The cartridge has a housing provided with an ink supply port extending through and projecting from a wall of the housing and into the chamber of the housing. A porous member having ink impregnated thereon is positioned inside the chamber of the housing abutting against the ink supply port. A filter is mounted on the inner end opening of the ink supply port. The ink tank cartridge is further provided with a packing member for resiliently abutting against the outer periphery of the ink supply needle and is positioned adjacent one end of the ink supply port. The outer opening of the ink supply port is sealed with a sealing member through which the ink supply needle penetrates.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved device and method for flossing teeth. The device has a handle portion and a finger portion. The finger portion is inserted into an individual's mouth, and the handle portion is used for holding the dental flossing device. In a first embodiment, the dental flossing device has two apertures spaced along the finger portion. The flossing material is threaded through the first aperture and then the second aperture. The user can also wrap the floss around the finger portion of the stick member to increase the friction between the floss and the stick member to facilitate flossing. A user presses one end of the flossing material against the device to keep the flossing material taut. The other end of the flossing material, extending from an aperture at the distal end of the device, is held by the user's fingers or is wrapped around a finger, depending on the individual's personal technique.

According to the residual recording material amount detector for the laser printer of the present invention, the toner consumption can be detected correctly irrespective of the kind of data to be printed.

The rotary member is formed with one of an axial shaft or an axial bore on each side thereof for engagement with and support by a corresponding opposed pair of supporting structures. The support structures may be either projecting parts, or barring parts. An image forming apparatus is also provided employing this improved structure for mounting a rotary member.     Abstract: A self-aligning ring for receipt within the ink supply port of an ink cartridge is provided. The ring includes, on the side thereof facing the interior of the ink cartridge, a first annular seal member whose inner diameter is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of an ink supply needle of a recording head, and on the side thereof facing the exterior of the ink cartridge, the ring includes a second annular seal member whose outer diameter is slightly larger than the inner diameter of the ink supply port. The seal members are connected by a thin flexible connecting member. If the ink supply needle is not positioned precisely coaxial with respect to the ink supply port, or even if the ink supply needle is not positioned precisely perpendicular to a recording head, the first annular seal member is displaced to conform with the ink supply needle position by deforming only the thin connecting member, and is hermetically fitted to the ink supply needle. Thus, ink is prevented from leaking from this seal.

    Abstract: A plastic laminate includes an acrylic sheet and layer of paint disposed thereon. A polyester sheet has a layer of adhesive disposed thereon. The adhesive layer is bonded directly to the paint layer. The laminate is formed by applying the paint layer to the acrylic sheet and thoroughly drying the paint layer. The polyester sheet is heated to a temperature to melt the hot melt adhesive and the heated adhesive is applied to the paint layer under pressure while the paint layer is being cooled. The entire laminate is then also cooled to room temperature under pressure.
