  • Patent number: 7621499
Abstract: An adjustable mouse lap pad has a working platform with flat upper and lower surfaces. Two sets of dual tracks are secured to the lower surface, each track set having two track members with teeth. Four pad supporting saddle elements are configured for comfortable placement on the lap of the user. The saddle elements are positioned within the sets of tracks. Each saddle element has teeth which engage with the teeth of the track members. The saddle elements are biasedly controlled, by push button activation, to move along the tracks and, at desired locations on the lower surface, to be locked in position within the teeth of the track members. This securely maintains the saddle elements under the platform, eliminating unwanted shifting and movement while the pad is on the thigh or lap of the user.

  • Patent number: 7622172
Abstract: A flexible cardiac catheter for sensing electrical activity within and administering therapy to a patients' heart has a series of flexible, conductive electrode bands positioned in grooves in the catheter's tubular body. The bands consist of alternating flexible and conductive elements, providing flexibility and overall versatility to the catheter. The electrode bands have controllable flexibility due to the elastic properties of the flexible elements and continuous uninterrupted electrical current conductance from the one-piece design of the conductive element. The synergy of the components of the composite flexible and conductive bands will help solve problems current electrode bands have and will allow for a freedom in the design of catheter electrode band configurations in the future.

  • Patent number: 7607562
Abstract: A method of welding connection is directed towards the construction and subsequent heat treatment of industrial grade manual tools and, specifically, their tool heads to handles or handle attachment connections. The method employs the use of matching, non-heat treated, compatible material such as steel alloys, for the tool heads and steel handles or attachment sockets. These components are welded together prior to their heat treatment, resulting in a superior weld joint without the normal annealing which occurs during welding. Such tools are, as a result, extremely resistant to bending or breaking under normal usage. With regard to spades and shovels, a stronger blade-to-handle junction is created, as no annealing takes place, compared to blades and handles which are first heat treated separately then welded together.

  • Patent number: 7591254
Abstract: A supercharger control system is installed at the bottom front end of the engine, directly onto the crankshaft. An accessory drive belt around the accessory belt pulley rotates continuously to keep vehicle accessories operating. A second belt around a larger pulley drives the supercharger blower. When the dashboard mounted switch is turned on, electricity from the engine energizes an electromagnet, which compels engagement of the rotating accessory pulley with the supercharger pulley by means of a slide plate. The belt around the supercharger pulley then rotates, operating the supercharger. If the driver does not require extra power and performance delivered by the supercharger, the switch is turned off, stopping the flow of electricity. This shuts down the magnetic field, causing the pulleys to be disengaged and disconnecting the supercharger, while still allowing the crankshaft to operate the accessories.

  • Patent number: 7559171
Abstract: A fishing rod holder has control plate attached to an elongated shaft with a longitudinal axis. One end of the shaft is configured to penetrate the ground or otherwise be secured to render the holder stationary and immoveable, even when a fish takes the bait. The control plate has a plurality of adjustment openings for receiving stop members. The fishing rod holder also has a tubular rod holder component which is pivotably attached to the control plate. The rod holder component can thus be positioned in a variety of angles in relation to the longitudinal axis of the shaft, by pivoting the rod holder component so that it contacts a stop member extending through one of the adjustment openings. When so positioned and a fish is hooked onto the line extending from the rod, the fish can be brought in without having to remove the fishing rod, which continues to be pivotably supported by the holder component. Upon release of tension on the line, the holder component automatically resets to its original position.

  • Patent number: 7540063
Abstract: A combination wringer/bucket system uses a wringer consisting of a wringer basket and pressure plate, specifically configured to be mounted on the rim of the bucket, which itself is specially adapted to receive and support a separable, columnar wringer basket support member. This member extends between the floor of the bucket and the basket and provides stability to the bucket mounted wringer. The support member can be removed from the bucket, as can the wringer, so that the bucket can be used alone, if desired. For providing additional stability to the wringer, leg components extend from the pressure plate, through the wringer basket. A cam operated system smoothly controls the movement of the pressure plate within the wringer, to efficiently and effectively wring out saturated mops.

  • Patent number: 7413377
Abstract: A walkway extension assembly for a paving machine has main and laterally extendable and retractable screeds and a transversely extending rear catwalk or walkway. The assembly has a laterally extending walkway component extending beneath and on each side of the existing walkway. Channel members are attached to and extend downwardly from bottom surfaces of the existing walkway. The lateral walkway components are positioned beneath the existing walkway on these channel members, and are slideably extendable, laterally and outward from the existing walkway. Brackets are attached between the ends of the walkway components and the sidewalls of the lateral screeds. By this configuration, when the lateral screeds are extended from beneath the paving machine, the lateral walkway components, moving in tandem with the screeds, are also extended. Workers are thus able to stand on the walkway components, outboard of the paving machine itself, to observe the lateral paving operations.
