Abstract: An apparatus for the selective feeding of one of a plurality of weft threads (1) to a gripper projectile, which moves along a projectile path (2), includes a plurality of displaceable feeders (3) each having a feeder clamp (7) for retaining a respective weft thread (1) in position for pick up, a knife (4) for cutting off the weft thread (1) after it has been drawn into the weaving shed by the gripper projectile, and a clamp for picking up the weft thread (1) from a feeder and drawing the weft thread (1) transversely across the projectile path (2) for engagement by the gripper projectile. The clamp is mounted on a rotatable ring (6) which is disposed perpendicular to the projectile path (2) which extends through the ring.
Abstract: An apparatus for recording, reproducing and erasing data or information on a magneto-optical recording medium, for applying a steady magnetic field to the recording medium and for applying a variable magnetic field, a portion of the apparatus for applying the magnetic field being integrated into a recording head and and the record head being disposed on different sides of the recording medium, this results in the miniaturization of the means for applying the magnetic field to the recording medium and the apparatus presents an excellent recording/erasure property.
Abstract: An exciting circuit for a stepper motor requiring only a single decoder device yet being capable of controlling the speed of the stepper motor using plural different modes of excitation. A memory stores digital data representing a predetermined sequence of activation of the exciting coils. A counter drives the address input port of the memory in accordance with its output count. A clock signal generator supplies clock pulses to the counter in one of two patterns, representative of high and low speeds. The first of the patterns contains clock pulses spaced at equal intervals with a frequency such that the stepper motor can follow the corresponding changes in activation of the exciting coils of the motor. In the second pattern, the clock signals are supplied in bursts, the internal frequency of which is higher than the stepper motor can follow. In this latter case, portions of the normal excitation sequence are effectively omitted, thereby driving the motor at a different speed.
Abstract: An antenna, such as Cassegrain or parabolic antenna, intended for use in the microwave or millimeter wavebands having improved wide angle radiation characteristics. At least one edge portion, in first embodiments, of a supporting post structure which supports a primary radiator or subreflector is modified to randomly scatter waves so that the field strength of scattered waves due to the presence of the supporting post is decreased.
