Abstract: A deformable wedge clamp assembly includes a body having first and second apertures formed therein, the first aperture being suitable for receiving a fastener and the second aperture being suitable for receiving a member to which the body is to be attached and a wedge assembly disposed in the body adjacent to the first and second apertures, wherein insertion of a fastener into the first aperture is capable of deforming the body for moving the wedge assembly against a member received in the first aperture to clamp the body to the member.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method for increased data availability. In an aspect of the present invention, a method includes receiving a SMART indication from a data storage device included in a plurality of data storage devices configured as a RAID array. Data from the data storage device which originated the SMART indication is replicated to a second data storage device. The second data storage device was not originally configured in the RAID array with the plurality of data storage devices for data storage. The data storage device which originated the SMART indication from the RAID array is removed, thereby resulting the second data storage device and the plurality of data storage devices configured as a RAID array.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for optimizing remote data distribution. A system and method for optimizing remote data includes receiving a request for content at a first storage device. The first storage device may include a map which may be analyzed to determine if a copy associated with the content request is present at the first storage device. The map may include at least one map entry having an identifier suitable for describing a range of addressable data blocks. If a copy associated with the content request is initially present, the copy may be provided to a user that requested the content. If the requested content is not initially present, a copy of the content may be retrieved by the first storage device from a second storage device. After receipt of the copy, a map located at the first storage device may be updated to reflect storage of the copy of requested content at the first storage device.
Abstract: A method of installing and configuring a test suite for a unit under test in an automated assembly process uses an identifier of the unit under test to retrieve the test files and other files for the installation and configuration. The identifier may be a serial number. The method uses the identifier to call up a Bill of Materials. From the Bill of Materials, test files and other files are generated.

Abstract: A switched architecture for dual, independent storage controllers overcomes latency and coherency problems by an inter-controller command interchange scheme. The switched architecture permits a read or write command to be presented to either storage controller to effect data transfer on the same or the other storage controller. Communication between the two storage controllers is effected through internal Infiniband switches.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a memory that allows two simultaneous read requests with improved density. In an aspect of the present invention, a memory module includes at least two primary memory sub-modules and an additional memory sub-module including a sum of values located in the at least two primary memory sub-modules at corresponding addresses. The sum of the additional memory module enables at least two simultaneous read requests to be performed.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and system for measuring bus frequency. A system suitable for determining bus frequency may include a bus device and a processor. The bus device is suitable for performing an operation and the processor is communicatively coupled to the bus device utilizing a bus. The processor is capable of starting a timer, initiating the bus device to perform a number of operations, receiving an indication that the bus device completed the number of operations, stopping the timer when the indication is received. A bus clock frequency is computed based upon time taken to complete the number of operations as indicated by the timer and the number of operations performed by the bus device.
Abstract: An information handling system controls a signal processing device by providing a control signal to the signal processing device. The control signal may be transmitted to the signal processing device as an infrared or R/F signal that is received and decoded by the signal processing device. The signal processing device is capable of receiving and processing an input signal, and is further capable of providing an output signal to the information handling system. In response to the control signal, the signal processing device encodes data onto the output signal provided to the information handling system, and the information handling system is capable of decoding the data from the output signal. The data encoded onto the output signal may include status information from the signal processing device, including the status of execution of the control signal.
Abstract: This invention presents a method and system to emulate logging or journaling file systems by means of a snapshot mechanism. Use of the snapshot mechanism reduces the number of system bus calls during log or journal updates and recalls in case of file recovery. The snapshot mechanism is implemented in hardware to provide for speedy and reliable data transfers. Overall system performance thereby is improved with an average reduced number of calls to the system memory bus. The present invention offers a cost effective way of retrofitting existing file systems with a journaling or logging capability.
Abstract: A dust collection cabinet is provided, which includes a cabinet and a dust collection device. The cabinet provides a storage facility for work tools and other accessories. The dust collection device includes a housing disposed with a motor, an on/off switch, an inlet gate and an outlet gate. The dust collection device further includes a storage facility for the collected dust and a support apparatus. A platform provides the base of the dust collection cabinet and includes casters to provide portability to the dust collection cabinet.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and an apparatus for automatically configuring and/or inserting chip resources for manufacturing tests. A maximum test configuration (“test backplane”) for all IP blocks is created and loaded into a tool suite. When a user issues a request to consume some IP blocks, the request may be checked for legality within the “test backplane”. If a test resource (IP block) is not available for activation, then either the test resource may not be activated or the conflicting resource problem must be resolved so that the test resource may be activated. This may avoid late design surprises. The resources on the platform may already have test structures associated with them. All of these test structures may be associated with the “test backplane”. These pre-exiting test structures may then be connected.

Abstract: A receiver with initial offset for biased idle transmission line suitable for providing a programmable amount of initial offset. The receiver comprises a standard differential receiver and one or more initial offset modules. Each initial offset module includes a transistor and two or more switches, which control the amount of offset to the differential receiver. The pump includes an eccentric assembly suitable for converting rotary motion of a rotating shaft to rectilinear motion. One or more straps couple the eccentric assembly to a piston assembly. The straps communicate the rectilinear motion of the eccentric assembly to the piston assembly, reciprocating the piston assembly to pump the liquid.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method for providing a self-ejecting cover for externally accessible electronic components. The system of the present invention includes a panel with an aperture for accepting an externally accessible component such as a communication connection.
