  • Patent number: 7534084
Abstract: A modular tow trailer assembly tows cargo behind a motor vehicle. A base assembly pivotally connects to a fork assembly. A hydraulic lifting cylinder moves the wheels downward relative to the fork assembly to raise the fork assembly into a towing position with the load substantially centered over the trailer's wheels. The tow trailer is readily partially disassembled for fitting within a cargo container and transporting within a cargo carrier in field conditions.

  • Patent number: 7464509
Abstract: The security wall of the invention is easy to assemble under field conditions to protect buildings and other objects from explosions, vehicle ramming and artillery projectiles. The security wall has a frame made from interlocking parallel horizontal beams and vertical posts. Tie rods or other stabilizing means can be used to stabilize the frame. After assembling the frame, panels are fastened to the frame. The paneled frame is then filled with fill material and an optional roof paneling can be added to the top of the paneled frame.

  • Patent number: 7278986
Abstract: A multi-use safety syringe has a retractable needle that retracts only when the user wants to retract the needle. The safety syringe has an internal moveable carriage that locks to an end cap with releasable locking elements. The safety syringe guards against premature retraction of the needle by requiring the simultaneous release of two releasable locking elements by the user. When the locking elements are released, the carriage is released. The released carriage slides backward within the barrel, retracting the needle within the barrel.

  • Patent number: 7249780
Abstract: An air spring and a linear guide are used to boost the effectiveness of a leaf spring suspension system for a motor vehicle. The air spring mounts between the axle and the vehicle frame. The aft end of the leaf spring mounts to the linear guide to allow the leaf spring to move vertically as well as front and back while restricting side-to-side movement. The air spring and linear guide can be added during vehicle assembly or afterward from an aftermarket kit of parts.

  • Patent number: 6616308
Abstract: An imitation candle is made from a translucent material having light transmissive properties similar to paraffin. The imitation candle is shaped to appear reduced by burning. An LED, or similar high intensity light source, is set in a cavity within the imitation candle. The LED preferably produces amber light to better resemble the color of candle light. The imitation candle diffuses the light emitted from the LED to create a warm, natural looking glow. Light emission levels from the LED are varied in a pseudo-random manner to simulate the flicker of candle light.

  • Patent number: 6467635
Abstract: The portable display apparatus of the invention is used to display caskets, urns, burial vaults and related materials. The portable casket display apparatus is made from a number of extrusions which have channels along the extrusion exterior. The display apparatus has a pair of vertical back extrusions releasably connected to first and second horizontal rear extrusions in a spaced apart relationship. Upper and lower pairs of lateral extrusions releasably connect to the vertical back extrusion in a spaced apart relationship. A sliding mechanism attaches to each lower lateral extrusion in a channel to move a bottom casket support from beneath the upper casket support.

  • Patent number: 6425154
Abstract: A patient self-assist transfer aid provides an open box frame having a base for fitting beneath a mattress of a bed, a riser section extending upwardly from the base for extending around an edge of the mattress and a positioning section for extending out over the mattress from the riser section. The open box frame may be positioned around the mattress end at the foot of the bed to leave the major sides of the bed open for ease of access. A linkage is fitted to the positioning section of the open box frame and may be extended therefrom to position a handle within easy grasp of a person laying in the bed. A spring system biases the linkage to a retracted position in the open box frame. A handle is pivotally attached to the linkage and for grasping by a patient recumbent in the bed or lowering him or herself into bed.

  • Patent number: 6366344
Abstract: The present invention provides a target illuminating and sighting apparatus for a bow. A frame for attachment to the bow supports two vertically spaced pivoting mounts, each of mounts supports a laser oriented to illuminate a target when the bow is aimed. Cams abut the pivotal mounts and allow for setting an angle of vertical convergence between the light beams so that the lasers intersect at ranges of between about 10 and 50 yards. An inclination cam, working synchronously with the convergence cam controls the inclination of the beams relative to the initial path of an arrow to be shot from the bow. The inclination cam may be calibrated to adjust for the particular bow and arrow combination.

  • Patent number: 6360902
Abstract: A storage system for fishing poles is discloses. The storage system includes a platform adapted to rest on a boat deck. An upper surface of the platform includes receptacles to receive the butt ends of fishing poles placed in the storage system. A frame extends upwardly from the platform and supports a rectangular member above and vertically oriented with respect to the platform. Notches are formed along and into one edge of the rectangular member, corresponding one to one with receptacles on the upper surface of the platform, with which they are aligned. An arm is pivotally attached with respect to the frame to close and open along the major edge of the rectangular member including the plurality of notches. A lock is provided for securing the arm against the major edge.

  • Patent number: 6111976
Abstract: The invention provides implementation of the pedagogic method of the Orton-Gillingham Approach by providing orthographic handwriting recognition, that is recognizing and pedagogically evaluating handwriting. This is done by noting, remediating or rejecting letters constructed by students which are pedagogically nonnormative in appearance, sequence of construction or both, even if the end appearance is clearly recognizable, including the possibility that the letter is perfect in end appearance.
