Abstract: An apparatus and method for removing stored energy from a storage phosphor screen in which a radiation image was recorded and then read by collecting stimulated emission from the phosphor sheet. The phosphor sheet is transported along a path in a first direction at a first speed into an erase area having at least one erasing light source. A portion of the phosphor sheet disposed within the erase area is exposed to the light source to affect erasure of the radiation image on the exposed portion of the phosphor sheet. Transport of the phosphor sheet is stopped when the trailing edge of the phosphor sheet enters the erase area and the phosphor sheet dwells within the erase area for a predetermined time period. The phosphor sheet is then transported along the path in a second direction at a second speed, and then transported along the path in the second direction at a third speed when the leading edge exits the erase area.

Abstract: An apparatus for rotating a bucky about an axis between a first and second position. The apparatus includes a base member stationarily disposed on the bucky and having a first and second rotational position; a first and second absorption member; and a first and second assembly. The first assembly is disposed at the first position and is slidably mounted relative to the base member. It includes a first detent adapted to receive a roller when the bucky is in the first position. The first assembly is disposed intermediate the first absorption member and base member such that the first absorption member biases the first assembly toward the base member. The second assembly is disposed at the second position and is slidably mounted relative to the base member. It includes a second detent adapted to receive a roller when the bucky is in the second position.

Abstract: The invention relates to the automatic printing of medical digital images. Medical imaging systems especially comprise a medical imaging device 1, a signal processing and image display station 2, a data entry device 4 allowing the selection of the print support format, and a printer 3 allowing the images to be printed. According to the invention, an analyzer of the images to be printed 8 allows the automatic ordering of the print support format selected by the printer 3. Application to the automatic selection of print support formats in medical digital imaging.
