Abstract: The present invention is directed towards an improved golf ball that includes a high-specific gravity central sphere encapsulated in a soft and resilient shell layer. The soft-resilient shell may be formed of polybutadiene rubber. This shell is subsequently wound with thread a wound core, which is then covered. The sphere can be formed of a solid metal or molded of high-specific gravity powder retained in a binding material.

Abstract: A method and system for buying and selling media advertising units over a distributed communication network, such as the Internet, provides a server on network including a database containing information pertaining to available advertising units, such as advertising time slots in television programming schedules, provided by media content providers. The server provides buyers of the advertising units access to the database over the network, whereby buyers may search the database and make bids to the sellers for selected advertising units. Sellers of advertising units access the database over said network to enter the information, receive bids entered by buyers, accept bids, and enter contracts into the server for communication to buyers over the network.

Abstract: A geographical region having an object to be tracked is divided into subregions, where adjacent disposed subregions partial overlap one another and the overlapping portions of adjacently disposed subregions share common states. A transition matrix is used to represent the terrain in a subregion and each subregion can have N geographical states and four (4) additional transition states. A regional tracker is used to estimate state sequences for each new observation of the object. Tracking continues until the process is complete or until the probability that the vehicle is in another new subregion occurs. Tracking performed between adjacently disposed subregions is based, at least in part by, the direction represented by the transition state. Tracking into a new subregion from an adjacently disposed old subregion begins precisely where tracking for the old subregion ended using the states that are common in the overlapping portions of the adjacently disposed subregions.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for generating an Adaptive Bayes Network data mining model includes receiving a data table having a plurality of predictor columns and a target column, constructing a plurality of single-predictor models, ranking each single-predictor model using minimum description length and selecting a best single predictor model, performing feature selection, constructing a Naïve Bayes model, comparing a description length of the Naive Bayes model with a description length of a baseline model, replacing the baseline model with the Naïve Bayes model, if the description length of the Naive Bayes model is less than the description length of the baseline model, extending a plurality of single-predictor models in rank order, stepwise, to multi-predictor features, and testing whether each new feature should be included in or should replace a current model state using minimum description length.

Abstract: A golf ball product, or other non-streamlined body, having a dimple pattern in which at least some of the dimples overlap at least one adjacent dimple is disclosed. A new parameter called Overlap Saturation (OS) is disclosed. OS is the ratio of the number of overlap instances on a ball to the maximum possible number for an ideal hypothetical ball with the same number of dimples. Overlap instances are tallied by summing the number of overlapping neighbor dimples for every dimple. Golf ball products employing the disclosed dimple patterns have an increase in total yardage compared to an equivalent product without overlapping dimples.
