  • Patent number: 4128833
Abstract: An alarm system for the detection of oil pollution in a feedwater system, comprising a housing having an inlet water line at one end and an outlet water line at the other end and formed with a series of internal, alternately disposed baffles adapted to retard water flow and forming passes thereinbetween, a light disposed in the floor of the housing before the first baffle with its beam directed to the roof of the housing, and an electric eye circuit disposed in the housing roof in registry with said beam, whereby dimming of the light beam by the introduction of oil in the water flowing inbetween activates an audible and visual alarm. Filter means are provided at the discharge end of the housing to remove sediment and particles passing through the housing.

  • Patent number: 4114022
Abstract: A combined hot air and steam hair dryer providing for discharge of hot air and steam through the same aperture, comprising a housing, constituting an air chamber, supported on a balancing base, and provided with a discharge aperture at the forward end and an air inlet means at the rear end, with a motor-powered fan in the latter to drive the air towards the aperture. Intermediate the ends of the housing are provided a plurality of heating coils and, forward thereof, adjacent the aperture, a steam generating casing enclosing a heat rod and having discharge holes in the direction of the aperture, with the heat rod, coils and motor interconnected to a lead wire leading to an electric source and simultaneously activated by a switch. The base contains a water reservoir provided with a pump, to which is connected a hollow tubing leading into the casing, with means to inject water from the reservoir thereinto, therein expanding the water into steam, to be sprayed from the discharge aperture with the hot air.

  • Patent number: 3971156
Abstract: An improved interchangeable-face device comprising two rows of alternately disposed equilateral triangles, spaced apart from one another and joined by link members bridging the interspaces, bonded to opposing surfaces of a pliant intermediate binder element, whereby the triangles and their interspaces are in registry, with the exposed portions of the binder element forming hinges for adjoining triangles. The triangle faces are provided with corresponding representations and the triangles are schematically overlaid upon one another, with the end triangles bonded together, to form a polygon, the latter adapted to be flexed for progressive exposure of groups of triangle faces, each group defining a different composite representation.

  • Patent number: 3958274
Abstract: A combined poncho-mattress formed of a substantially rectangular main sheet of pliable, air-tight and water-proof material centrally provided with a transverse head slot, on which are centrally mounted a pair of secondary sheets of the same material, with each secondary sheet of reduced width and extending from the head slot to an opposing shorter side of the main sheet, each of the secondary sheets being secured to the main sheet to define a series of parallel expansible sleeves, with an inflatable tube selectively disposable in each sleeve to form, of each secondary sheet and the main sheet, an abutting mattress section, the sleeves being closed off by a transverse zipper. Foam rubber tubes may be substituted for the inflatable tubes. In a modified form the pockets in each mattress section may communicate at alternate ends, for inflation of the mattress section as a single unit, without tube inserts.
