Abstract: A double-hulled vessel has a ballast draft line previously set at an empty state thereof. The double-hulled vessel of the present invention comprises an outer shell formed on bottom and side portions of the vessel; an inner shell formed on bottom and side portions of the vessel within the outer shell; an air tube positioned between the inner and outer shells; and a seawater tube positioned between the inner and outer shells, wherein seawater holes are formed in the outer shell to be connected to the seawater tube, the seawater tube is capable of containing seawater to substantially fill a space between the inner and outer shells extending from the bottom portion of the vessel up to the ballast draft line of the side portion of the vessel when the vessel is not loaded with cargo, and the air tube is capable of containing air to substantially fill the space between the inner and outer shells of the bottom and side portions of the vessel when the vessel is loaded with cargo.
Abstract: A metal-plastic-metal structural laminate which can be formed into various useful articles having compound curves using conventional metal forming techniques. The laminate comprises two metal skin layers and a centrally disposed polymer layer comprising a core layer, and optionally first and second adhesive layers. Each metal skin layer is 2 to 20 mils, the ratio of the core thickness to skin thickness is less than 9:1 and the total laminate thickness is 5 to 65 mils. The laminate can be bent to 90.degree. to a critical radius, the distance between the pivot point and the inner skin surface of the laminate, without metal rupture.

Abstract: A cable shielding tape comprising a metal strip having a first adhesive layer of polymeric resinous material tightly adhered to at least one side thereof and a bond control layer of polymeric resinous material strippably adhered to the first adhesive layer, and plastic jacketed electrical power and communications cables utilizing such shielding tape. The outer plastic jacket of such cables withstands delamination under conditions of normal use but can easily be removed to facilitate the grounding and splicing procedures; the adhesive layer remains tightly adhered to the metal strip for protection against corrosion following the removal of the jacket.
Abstract: Markedly improved flame retardance is imparted to crosslinked olefin polymers containing halogenated organic moiety by incorporating therein elemental red phosphorus. The resulting flame retardant compositions are particularly useful in fabrication of crosslinked olefin polymer foams.
