Abstract: A cap for use on a tube of adhesive is equipped with a cutter at one end for puncturing the sealed opening of the tube and an internal through bore, the cutter being maintained in a spaced relationship with the sealed opening prior to use by a protecting ring which can be readily deformed into a stand for the tube, the stand being attached to the cap when the cutter is moved to puncture the sealed opening.

Abstract: A clutch-Brake device, comprising a drive shaft as a driving member, a ring having an inner periphery provided with a surface tapered in an axial direction and coaxially mounted on the drive shaft as a driven member, a plurality of wedges disposed around the drive shaft, each wedge being pivotally mounted on a fulcrum block installed on the inner periphery of the ring, the fulcrum blocks having a tapered surface slidably engaged with the inner peripheral surface of the ring and capable of causing the wedges to move radially toward and away from the drive shaft when the ring is moved axially in one direction or the other. The wedges are adapted to grip the drive shaft when the drive shaft is rotating in one direction and the wedges are moved to come into contact with the drive shaft, so that the ring is driven to rotate with the drive shaft, and to disengage the drive shaft when the drive shaft rotates in the opposite direction, or when the wedges are moved apart from the drive shaft.

Abstract: A device for operating the seat and cover of a flushing toilet having a flushing tank, comprising a pair of floats installed in the flushing tank and capable of ascending and descending in the flushing tank, the floats being operatively connected with the seat and cover so that the seat and cover are raised to an upright position when the floats ascend, and lowered when the floats descend. The device further comprises holding levers adapted to hold the floats submerged in the water in the flushing tank. The holding levers are operable by hand to release the floats thus allowing the floats to buoy up or ascend and consequently raise the seat and cover, which are then lowered when the water in the flushing tank is drained to flush the toilet and the floats descend with the descending water level.

Abstract: An internal housing comprises an upper part 1, a lower part 3 and a middle part 2. The middle part 2 connects the internal housing to an external housing 4 to form a rotary loop taker. The external housing 4 comprises an elastic piece 6 for engaging thread as well as a tail base 42 and an internally tapered ring 5 for fitting the loop taker into a sewing machine. The middle part 2 provides a ring about which the external housing 4 is rotatable, and to facilitate this rotation, this middle part is of or coated with Teflon.

Abstract: A multi-layered solar heat reflecting glass, comprising one layer of colored glass and two layers of transparent glass bonded together. One surface of the colored glass is provided with a reflective, metallic oxide film. The external surface of the metallic oxide film is then bonded to a layer of transparent glass using a low water content bonding agent such as epoxy resin adhesive. A second layer of transparent glass is bonded to the other surface of the colored glass by means of a second bonding agent capable of preventing shattering. Alternatively, the oxide film and the bonding agent layer are provided between the two layers of transparent glass, with the colored glass being bonded to one of the external surfaces of the transparent glass.

Abstract: This invention relates to a writing implement comprising an outer casing, a coil spring disposed within the casing, an inner tube inserted through the coil spring and having a plurality of presharpened pieces of pencil lead stored therewithin, and a capping member fitted over the open end of the inner tube. The lower (writing) portion of the inner tube is split into two clamping halves. The lower end of the coil spring is formed into a hook which slides along the slot formed between the clamping halves to allow the expelling and feeding of presharpened pieces of pencil lead into the space between said two clamping halves.

Abstract: A centering device for locating a center line of a workpiece to be aligned with the center line of a milling cutter along the direction of cut in a horizontal milling machine. The device comprises a centering pointer and an aligning fixture to be used in combination with a dial indicator. The centering pointer is mounted onto the aligning fixture adapted to be attached to the milling cutter in aligning the center lines, wherein the center line of the milling cutter along the direction of cut is represented by the centering pointer and the center line of the workpiece can be brought to coincide therewith.

Abstract: An apparatus for mixing gas with liquid comprising:(a) an inner cylindrical member comprising an elongated tube having upper and lower ends and a plurality of turbines, which are free to rotate about their longitudinal axis, mounted within the tube, the turbines being spaced apart from one and another and so constructed that adjacent turbines have different rotational direction or velocity;(b) optionally, an outer cylindrical member comprising an elongated tube having upper and lower ends and a plurality of openings in the lower half of the tube wall;(c) a base member to which the lower ends of the outer and inner cylindrical members are attached so that the lower ends are sealed, the outer and inner cylindrical members being arranged in a concentric manner; and(d) a gas inlet pipe for introducing gas bubbles into the apparatus.The apparatus is useful for aerating sludge, separating the fine particles contained in a slurry, and separating particles having smooth surfaces from particles having jagged surfaces.

Abstract: Disclosed herewith is a ball bladder orifice formed by a ball bladder orifice saddle, an orifice set, an inset tube and a strength washer. Since the saddle is welded to the bladder on the inside of the bladder, it will much more firmly adhere to each other than the conventional ones, wherein the saddle is attached to the bladder from the outside of the bladder. There is a hook at the bottom end of the orifice set. The hook possesses two functions: one is to hold all of the pieces stably and firmly; and, the other is to give more strength to seal the tube fissure at the lower end of the inset tube to keep the air from leaking as more air is pumped into the ball.

Abstract: A centering device comprising a centering pointer and a centering block to be used in conjunction with a conventional dial indicator for locating the center of a workpiece and aligning the center of the workpiece with the center axis of the spindle of a manufacturing machine without the need of marking the workpiece prior to the set up of the workpiece for the cutting process. The centering pointer comprises a needle resiliently and slidably held in a hollow holder for mounting onto the spindle of a manufacturing machine such as a drill press and the like, the needle having a lever rigidly connected thereto for transmitting the movement to the lower point of the dial indicator.

Abstract: A dispenser for drawing toothpaste from a squeeze-tube container and applying it to the top of a toothbrush with a vacuum pump of piston-cylinder construction which is so operated that the pump draws the toothpaste out of the squeeze-tube container when the toothbrush is pushed into the dispenser and discharges the same when the toothbrush is withdrawn. The toothpaste is pumped through a passage which is provided with an inlet valve which operates in cooperation with an elastic adapter used for mounting and sealing the neck portion of the squeeze-tube container, an outlet valve which operates in cooperation with a port formed in the cylinder, and an elastic discharge nozzle which opens when the toothpaste is being pumped and closes by its own resiliency when the toothpaste is being drawn out of the squeeze-tube container. The amount of toothpaste supplied each time by the dispenser can be adjustably predetermined as desired.

Abstract: This invention provides a novel synthetic fuel composition suitable for use in internal combustion engines. The fuel composition comprises from about 40 to 95% by volume of a primary alcohol having 1-4 carbon atoms, from about 5 to 60% by volume of an alcohol derivative having the general formula ##STR1## wherein R is --CH.sub.3, --C.sub.2 H.sub.5, --C.sub.3 H.sub.7, or --C.sub.4 H.sub.9, and R.sub.1 is hydrogen or --CH.sub.3.The fuel composition can be prepared by reacting a primary alcohol having 1-4 carbon atoms with oxygen or air to form an alcohol derivative which is an aldehyde and reacting the aldehyde with an additional portion of the alcohol to form the product, comprising the alcohol, the alcohol derivative and the aldehyde.
