Abstract: An inexpensive device is provided for quickly and efficiently securing protective panels such as, for example, plywood and the like, to exterior surfaces of buildings to protect windows, doors and/or other vulnerable features from wind and flying debris. The device comprises a stationary base, and a clamping member attached to such base. At least one device of the present invention is mounted to a building in general proximity to a window, door or other feature to be covered with a protective panel; the clamping member(s) secure the protective panels in place against the building. When not in use, the present invention can be maintained in a stowed position.
Abstract: A base having a substantially planar surface, an upright support member and a blade guide having a serrated surface that can be adjustably positioned along the planar surface. The blade guide is biased toward an opposing serrated plate member to securely hold a section of donor bone, and locked in place using an adjustable lever-cam linkage.
Abstract: A method for repairing damaged wells, especially in marine environments utilizing an alignment apparatus having a substantially cylindrical body member, a lower spear extension and a plurality of blades extending radially outward from the body member and spear extension. The alignment apparatus is concentrically inserted into the upper opening of a damaged well having a substantially vertical orientation. The alignment apparatus serves as an alignment guide for larger diameter pipe to be installed (typically driven) around a portion of the well to provide structural integrity to the well, as well as to serve as a conduit into the well for subsequent operations.

Abstract: An apparatus for blast suppression involves forming a foam barrier in proximity to a bomb or other suspicious device. The foam is maintained in position by a containment structure which is inflated and kept in an inflated state by the foam used to form such barrier. Various containment structures are disclosed for suppression of compression waves and combustion effects caused by an explosive event.

Abstract: An apparatus, that places an object ball in the palm of both hands of an athlete, for training the athlete to catch a thrown sports ball with fingertips and thumb tips rather than palms. The size of the object ball can be increased as the athlete's skill level improves. This apparatus teaches the athlete to control the sports ball with the fingertips and thumb tips. Because this apparatus is small and lightweight it can be used for training as well as performance enhancement.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for down hole cutting of pipe, such as casing and other tubular goods, and plugging and abandonment of wells, without the need for a drilling or work over rig. An adjustable stand is provided for supporting and stabilizing a power swivel, and for axially positioning the power swivel relative to a well to be abandoned. An optional work deck is also provided to allow personnel to access the well. The adjustable stand and work deck of the present invention can be easily adapted to a wide range of working environments.
Abstract: The invention pertains to a large format, plotter-style automated laser engraver which can be used to engrave various materials. A cabinet body supports a substantially flat work surface which can be raised or lowered as desired. A gantry assembly is mounted in close proximity to such work surface, and facilitates movement of a focused laser assembly to any x/y coordinate along the work surface. A computer controlled wireless focus mechanism is used to regulate the vertical distance between the focused laser assembly and the work surface. Air is provided to cool the work surface during the engraving process.
Abstract: A rig for drilling wells or holes at virtually any angle, from nearly horizontal to vertical, has a trailer mounted derrick which can be tilted to a desired angle, a top drive unit slidably mounted within such derrick and a hydraulic jacking apparatus. An automated pipe handling apparatus permits efficient transfer of pipe sections from the derrick to a truck, pipe rack or other storage facility.
Abstract: A spooled tubing unit is provided which permits simultaneous translation and rotation of continuous tubing to drill or conduct other downhole operations in a borehole in subterranean formations.
Abstract: An improved method of blast suppression involves forming a foam barrier in proximity to a bomb or other suspicious device. The foam is maintained in position by a containment structure which is inflated and kept in an inflated state by the foam used to form such barrier. Various containment structures and methods are disclosed for suppression of compression waves and combustion effects caused by an explosive event.

Abstract: A blade system for mounting on a marine motor such as an electric trolling motor and cutting weeds, aquatic vegetation and other debris that normally entangle the submerged motor and propeller.
Abstract: A method of conducting seismic evaluation of a subterranean formation wherein a rigid, elongate member having a first end and a second end is positioned such that the first end of the elongate member is at a point on the earth's surface, imparting an impulsive force to the elongate member to urge the member into the earth, the positioning of the rigid member and the impulsive force being sufficient to generate and propagate primary seismic waves into the subterranean formation and positioning one or more seismic wave detectors on the surface of the earth to detect and receive reflected seismic waves from the subterranean formation.
Abstract: Applicant's invention comprises a corner piece which is firmly attached to a wall at a juncture of horizontal and vertical retainer strips and covers the juncture between the horizontal and vertical retainer strips, providing a barrier to direct water and/or moisture from invading behind such horizontal and vertical retainer strips. The invention comprises a generally L-shaped base plate and integrally formed first and second flange means extending outward and parallel thereto to provide a continuous L-shaped barrier that forms a channel which cooperates with and contains the ends of the vertical and horizontal retainer strips adjacent the corner of the opening, and flaps which cover seams formed between such retainer strips and the corner piece in the channels.
Abstract: A portable folding seat has a fabric seat supported in an open position by support rods and a rigid canister. In an open position, the canister functions as a pedestal for the seat and is removably affixed to a mounting surface. The folding seat may be folded into a retracted position such that the fabric seat is completely enclosed within the canister. A removable cap is provided to close the top opening of the canister when the folding boat seat is in the retracted position.
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for the continuous microbial remediation of organic wastes in sewers and other waste-laden environments utilizing in-situ microbial seeding. A bio-reactor containing inoculated carrier media is suspended within a sewer wet-well or other similar environment, and is at least partially immersed in the waste-laden fluid to be treated. Air and nutrients are continuously supplied to the bio-reactor via conduit from a remote, easily accessible location. Beneficial microbial populations are permitted to thrive and spread throughout the waste-laden environment, mineralizing organic wastes and eventually becoming dominant within the subject environment.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for removing fluids, particularly entrained and/or adherent fluids, from drill cuttings generated during the well drilling process. A generally cylindrical wire-wrapped screen having a bore therethrough rotates about its longitudinal axis. Suction pressure is applied through the inner bore of the cylindrical wire-wrapped screen. As fluid-laden drill cuttings are deposited on the outer surface of the cylindrical wire-wrapped screen, fluids are drawn off of the cuttings and evacuated from the inner bore of the cylindrical wire-wrapped screen. Solid components of the cuttings remain on the outer surface of the cylindrical wire-wrapped screen and eventually roll off the screen. A scraper member is provided to agitate cuttings deposited on the outer surface of the cylindrical wire-wrapped screen.
