  • Patent number: 7914143
Abstract: Glasses for receiving interchangeable charms are disclosed. The glasses are adaptable for releasably and interchangeably attaching and securing a variety of charms such that the plane of the backside of the charm is flush against a convex or smooth outwardly facing surface on a pair of glasses. In a preferred embodiment, the glasses in the present invention comprise a depressed region further comprising a planar magnetic base surrounded on all sides by walls substantially perpendicular thereto. Each charm in the present invention has a second magnet adapted for tight fitment into said depressed region, so as to be held in place by magnetic attraction when brought into close proximity with said depressed region.

  • Patent number: 7791438
Abstract: A waveguide interface for millimeter wave and sub-millimeter wave applications adapted to couple and uncouple abutting waveguide sections wherein said waveguide interface acts as both a mating surface and a precision alignment mechanism. The waveguide interface comprises a first member having a first waveguide defined therein, a second member having a second waveguide similar in cross-section to said first waveguide defined therein, a means for mating said first member and said second member comprising a centrally located precision mating surface through which propagates electromagnetic energy and additionally comprising at least one pair of diametrically opposed rotational alignment pins and holes located a specified distance from said centrally located precision-mating surface, and wherein said pins and holes are in mating relation of looser fitment than said centrally located precision mating surface.

  • Patent number: 7711581
Abstract: A software system for gathering and managing medical patient information is disclosed. The system has two components: a first computer module for gathering medical information using medical data entry screens, and a second computer module for creating customized medical data entry screens. The second module can create and customize virtually all aspect of the medical data entry screens. The present invention also allows users to create natural language reports from the medical data that has been gathered, and these reports can reviewed on the screen or through a print-out. Additionally, the data is stored is stored in database, with unique identifiers assigned to each data point, thereby facilitating data mining. The system also includes a matrix, a unique data entry tool that allows users to easily correlate body parts and modifiers.

  • Patent number: 7668309
Abstract: A portable electronic accessory holder for insertion into an existing vehicle cup holder includes a body having a continuous side wall that is sized to be received within the vehicle cup holder and an upper surface that coincides with at least a portion of the side wall. A pair of spaced sides extend upwardly from the upper surface to thereby define a gap therebetween. The gap is dimensioned to receive and hold a portable accessory, such as a portable phone, with the upper surface defining a support surface for the portable accessory. One or more cavities may also be located in the holder for providing multiple mounting positions for portable accessories.

  • Patent number: 7632318
Abstract: A lighter fluid composition usable for starting barbecues and the like that comprises naturally occurring combustible materials, which is clean burning and results in low volatile organic compound (VOC) emission during combustion, which is biodegradable and easily disposable, and which burns with a pleasant aroma and does not impart any unpleasant hydrocarbon odor or flavor to food cooked on a barbecue. The composition preferably comprises between approximately 0.5 weight percent and approximately 90 weight percent of a terpene or terpenoid oil, and between approximately 0.5 weight percent and approximately 98.5 weight percent of short chain alcohol, between approximately 0.5 weight percent and approximately 60 weight percent of water, between approximately 0.1 weight percent and approximately 10 weight percent of surfactant, and between approximately 0.5 weight percent and approximately 10 weight percent of thickening agent.

  • Patent number: 7501290
Abstract: A method for making suspended microarray readings from a single sample statistically significant in a reliable manner. It can be applied to any assay system that uses discrete particles where the particles are coupled with an assay. Most of these systems suspend the particles in fluid and read the assay result using flow cytometry. However, other methods such as the distribution of tiny assay devices coupled with miniature transponders, where the sampling is of the environment, can also make use of this method. This invention combines multiple separately identified assays of one sample, where the multiple assays are for a single analyte and sets of assays have differing sensitivity to said analyte. By elimination of outliers, averaging, and taking ratios of averages, this method makes possible highly reliable diagnostics. This method compensates for multiple stochastic and non-stochastic sources of errors that can occur in this type of assay system.

  • Patent number: 7438719
Abstract: A phototherapy system and device is disclosed, including an array of light sources from at least two distinct spectral light regions. The first spectral light region represents the treatment color, and thus is chosen for its phototherapeutic value. For instance, blue light may be the treatment color for hyperbilirubinemia. The second spectral light region represents the balancing color, and is chosen for its ability to mitigate discomfort that may be caused by viewing the treatment color. When blue is the treatment color, yellow has been found to be an effective balancing color.
