  • Patent number: 5695334
Abstract: Apparatus and method for producing a permanent metal post and core adjusted angularly in order to result in a prosthesis aligned in parallel relation to surrounding teeth and prostheses. A bendable post and core assembly is placed in a conventional anchor. The post is bent to a precise desired angle with respect to the core, and cemented in this position. A ceramic mold is formed around the cemented post and core. The post and core, which is preferably fabricated from a synthetic organic polymer which melts at a temperature below 1,400.degree. F., is then heated and evacuated from the mold. A permanent post and core is then cast in the mold from a suitable material, such as gold. Optionally, a sleeve which is configured to slip over and closely conform to the post is employed, either to increase the diameter of the core prior to forming the mold, or to assist in fabricating the denture after the permanent post and core is completed.

  • Patent number: 5688195
Abstract: An outdoor overhead arch forms a unique support for an appliance, such as a batting aid having a tethered ball. The arch is formed as two vertical posts, two slanted posts, and an upper horizontal post. The posts are connected to one another by elbow sections. The vertical posts are supported in ground mounted sleeves so that they may be manually lifted from the ground. The sleeves receive the vertical posts to a sufficient depth of penetration to provide rigid vertical support. Illustratively, should the tether of the batting aid become wound around the horizontal post to which it is attached, it is easily reached when the appliance is manually lowered. The appliance is readily removed from the sleeve for seasonal storage, and is readily reerected. The sleeve has a cap for safety and to prevent clogging when not in use. The cap may be formed to have a shallow recess, so that the sleeve serves as a golf hole. A variation shows the arch spanning a swimming pool.

  • Patent number: 5664707
Abstract: A tool for installing perforated beads on a strand of fibers, such as a strand of hair. The tool comprises a rod terminating in a closed loop at one end, and having a removable cap at the other end. When the cap is removed, perforated beads are sequentially loaded onto the rod. The cap is replaced, thus retaining the beads between the cap and the loop. The strand of fibers is passed through the loop. The loop is resilient, and is manually compressed to accommodate passage of the beads as the beads are pushed from the rod onto the strand of fibers. The tool is then disengaged from the strand. The beads may be secured in place by crimping one or more beads, or by applying a cement to the strand, or both. The cement may either act by adhering a bead to the strand, or by increasing the diameter of the strand so that it no longer passes through the bead.

  • Patent number: 5653151
Abstract: A two sided ratcheting driving tool. Each side has a rotatable receptacle constrained to rotate in only one direction by interengaging teeth formed in the receptacle and in its housing. A leaf spring urges the receptacle into the engaged position with respect to the housing. In one direction, the receptacle is locked to the housing, and thus drives a tool such as a screw driver blade or a socket. In the other direction, torque causes the receptacle to overcome the spring and disengage from the housing. Thus, conventional, intermittent one way rotation is assured. The receptacle has a square hole formed therein, for receiving a tool. The tool comprises a square block cooperating with the square hole of the receptacle, and has two oppositely oriented blades, sockets, or other tools. Direction of operation is reversed by using a different one of the oppositely oriented tools. No adjustment of a lever is required.
