  • Patent number: 8262282
Abstract: A timing apparatus on a container cap which is associated with a standard push pump. The timer is activated by pushing down on the standard pump that then moves a fluid that is held within a chamber having a first compartment and a second compartment. The compartments are in fluid communication with each other. The fluid is moved from one compartment to the other compartment when the pump is pushed and the timer works because the fluid returns to the first compartment over some known range of time when the pump is no longer being pushed.

  • Patent number: 8079938
Abstract: A boxing or martial arts training and/or exercise device includes one or more punching pads locationally displaced and supported on a frame. Respective pads are positioned in support on the frame for punching and kicking. Each pad communicatively connects to one or more impact sensor. Each impact sensor communicatively connects to a control unit. The control unit is communicatively connected to a display. The impact sensor detects touches and taps to the pad and signals the control unit of the detection. Responsive to the detection, the control unit directs sequences shown in the display according to a fighting sequence, a training sequence, or other sequence. The control unit includes a user interface for selection among sequences, as well as for selection of various menu items for the respective types of sequences.

  • Patent number: 8027841
Abstract: Systems and methods provide security intelligence knowledge of network communications. Particularly, VoIP packetized data being communicated over the network, together with other types of data communications over the network, is monitored and detected. From the VoIP packetized data, select portions or streams of the VoIP packetized data are identified. The select packetized data is then matched to a fingerprint or other indicia that indicates that the data is suspect for security intelligence knowledge purposes. The matched data is translated for purposes of taking security precautions based on the content of the security intelligence knowledge so gleaned.

  • Patent number: 7912188
Abstract: A packetized telecommunication network directs a call that is received at a gateway of the network to connect to a feature platform via the network, which performs a service related to the call, such as an authentication service. After the service is performed, the call is redirected to another location in the network to provide a connection between the gateway and the other location, which connection is independent of the feature platform.

  • Patent number: 7756031
Abstract: Systems and methods for optimizing usage of an available bandwidth for VoIP communications include a communications system, such as the Internet, for carrying the VoIP communication signals. A switch and a bandwidth limiter connected to the switch restrict bandwidth usage by applications other than those required for the VoIP communications. In the system, a modem or other narrowband network interface, a router, a network adapter, and a VoIP element are housed as a unit. The switch turns “on” and “off” the bandwidth limiter, and the bandwidth limiter when “on” restricts bandwidth usage of the adapter. The communications system is a digital data network, and the modem accesses the digital data network via connection of the modem to the network. Features for emergency bypass and external power supplies are included.

  • Patent number: 7751540
Abstract: A telemetry system includes at least one telemetry communication device for handling security event information available to the telemetry communication device. The system also includes a central host device, and an “always on” network, such as the Internet, communicatively connected to the telemetry communication device and the central host device, for communications between the telemetry communication device and the central host device. Encryption key information is exchanged between the central host device and the telemetry communication device, via a secure path, such as a cellular telephone call between the devices wherein identity and authentication can be ensured by Calling Line Identity information, or other secure exchange. Telemetry information is communicated by the telemetry communication device and the central host device over the “always on” network, in encrypted format according to the particular encryption keys exchanged.

  • Patent number: 7635164
Abstract: A controller module for a wheelchair automatically, automatedly adjusts position of the wheelchair seat with respect to the wheelchair base. The wheelchair seat is pivotally connected to the wheelchair base, for movement of the seat with respect to the base by a powered actuator. The controller module includes a microprocessor connected to the powered actuator for operating the powered actuator to move the seat. A sensor, such as a 3-axis sensor, is connected to the microprocessor. The microprocessor performs a programmed sequence, to periodically adjust the seat position when the wheelchair seat is occupied, through feedback from the sensor. The controller module can provide medical and therapeutic benefits by operations of periodically adjusting the seat position, thereby varying a wheelchair occupant's pressure contacts, weights, and loadings against the seat.

  • Patent number: 7619432
Abstract: A system for testing with an automated test equipment (ATE) includes a tester having at least one test resource, a tandem handler, and a mux relay that switchably connects the test resource, via parallel connections, to either one of dual sockets at each instant of testing. The handler has first and second manipulator arms. Each arm operates as to a particular one of the respective sockets, to retrieve a next device to be tested and position the device in the socket (while testing is performed on a device in the other socket), to disposition the device from the socket once testing is completed as to the device in the socket, and thereafter repeat until all staged devices for testing have been tested (or an interruption of testing otherwise occurs). The mux relay switches between sockets in response to the tandem handler acting as a master and the tester as slave.

  • Patent number: 7561520
Abstract: Systems and methods limit capacity available for VoIP or other packetized data communications over a communications network. An initiator of the call is communicatively connected to the network, for example, by a gateway switch. The call has a particular destination communicatively connected to the network, such as a market gateway. An identifier of the destination is communicated over the network to a database. The database, via a load distribution proxy and capacity limiting proxies, controls whether or not the call is ultimately communicated to the destination, based on capacity loading then occurring at the destination.

  • Patent number: 7420978
Abstract: A telecommunication service charges for voice calls entering a network over a particular time period, such as a billing period. A parameter or parameters related to the number of information units (e.g., packets, bytes or bits) used to transmit the plurality of voice calls over the network is measured. A charge for the plurality of voice calls is computed based on the one or more parameters measured. The one or more parameters may be used to compute a charge for the plurality of voice calls based on the total number of information units transmitted, average number of information units transmitted, peak information units transmitted over the billing period or some combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 7356872
Abstract: A vacuum device has a housing. The housing forms an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The housing also forms a viewable compartment for retaining refuse vacuumed by the device. A vacuum motor is located in the housing. The vacuum motor has a suction inlet and a vent outlet. The suction inlet is connected to the viewable compartment. The suction inlet is also connected to the inlet opening of the housing. The vent outlet of the vacuum motor is to the outlet opening of the housing. An electric circuit of the device is connected to the vacuum motor. The electric circuit is connected to a sensor and includes a microcontroller. The sensor, for example, an infrared beam and detector, triggers the electric circuit, and programmed control by the microcontroller, when the beam is broken and not detected by the detector. When the beam is broken, the sensor signals the microcontroller and the microcontroller logically powers-on the vacuum motor to suction the refuse into the housing.

  • Patent number: 7350258
Abstract: A system for cleaning includes a handle and a head having a cleaning surface. The head is connected to the handle and is extendable to selectively widen or narrow the cleaning surface. A gear is fixedly connected to the handle and rotatingly connected to the head, so that twist of the handle rotates the gear. A first series of extension gears operably connect to the gear, and a second series of extension gears also operably connect to the gear. Rotation of the gear via the handle, rotates the first series and the second series. A first head extension is operably connected to the first series, such that rotation of the first series swings the first head extension into laterally aligned extension of the head. A second head extension is operably connected to the second series, such that rotation of the second series swings the second head extension also into laterally aligned extension of the head.
