  • Patent number: 7966753
Abstract: A snowplow laser guidance system is illustrated and described. The system can include, for example, a laser light source, a laser exit window through which a laser beam generated by the laser light source is transmitted, and a pressurized gas conduit. The pressurized gas conduit can have an opening positioned such that gas released through the opening flows across a face of the laser exit window. This can be useful to remove accumulated material, such as snow, ice, water, and dirt. The gas can be, for example, pressurized gas from a pressurized gas source of a snowplow vehicle. Release of pressurized gas across the face of the laser exit window can occur at a programmed frequency and/or in response to an operator signal, such as a signal from a switch on a control panel. The system also can include a heater connected to the laser exit window for defrosting.

  • Patent number: 7967468
Abstract: A lighting device is disclosed. The lighting device can be battery-powered and can include one or more LEDs within a light assembly. The device also can include a battery compartment, a first frame element, and a second frame element. The light assembly can be supported by the first frame element and free to tilt on a first axis relative to the first frame element. The light assembly can be free to rotate relative to the second frame element on a second axis substantially perpendicular to the first axis. The second frame element can be, for example, a plate configured to be fixedly mounted to a surface, such as a wall.

  • Patent number: 7891841
Abstract: A lighting device is disclosed. The lighting device can be compact and can have a major surface configured to be attached to a substantially flat mounting surface. Within the lighting device, a light bar frame can be rotatable relative to a mounting plate around an axis substantially perpendicular to the major surface. Three or more rotatable light bars can be positioned within the light bar frame. The light bars can include lighting elements (e.g., light-emitting diodes) and can be positioned within the light bar frame such that their rotational axes are coplanar. The rotational axes of the light bars also can be substantially perpendicular to the axis around which the light bar frame rotates relative to the mounting plate. Furthermore, the rotational axes of the light bars can form three or more sides of a polygon (e.g. a triangle).

  • Patent number: 7866195
Abstract: A door lock indicator device is disclosed. The door lock indicator device can include a rotatable portion, a lock status display, and a switch (e.g., a button). The rotatable portion can define an opening shaped to receive a key blade. The door lock indicator device can be installed on a face of a door lock with the opening aligned with a keyhole of the door lock. Rotating a key blade within a keyway of the door lock can cause the rotatable portion to rotate with the door lock's cylinder. The lock status display can include a first indicator light and a second indicator light. Activating the switch can cause the lock status display to indicate a direction of a most recent rotation of the rotatable portion and/or a locked or unlocked status of the associated door lock.

  • Patent number: 7789227
Abstract: A handheld storage and mixing device is disclosed. The device can include first and second separate containers each defining a distinct internal cavity. The first container can be movable (e.g., rotatable) relative to the second container between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the cavities can be substantially sealed from one another. In the second position, a first gas forming ingredient in one of the cavities can mix with a second gas forming ingredient in the other cavity to form a gas, such as chlorine dioxide gas. The device can have one or more filtered openings to allow gas generated by mixing the first and second gas forming ingredients to escape into the ambient environment.

  • Patent number: 7731386
Abstract: A lighting device is disclosed. The lighting device can include a light bar and a base having an elongated groove shaped to receive the light bar. The light bar can be rotatable relative to the base around an axis substantially perpendicular to the long axis of the light bar. Rotation of the light bar around this axis can move the light bar into and out of the elongated groove, thus converting the lighting device between compact and expanded configurations. For greater maneuverability, the light bar can include a light source housing portion rotatable around an axis substantially parallel to the long axis of the light bar. The light source housing portion can include two or more light emitting diodes positioned along the long axis of the light bar. The lighting device can be used with a mounting sleeve shaped to receive, for example, one end of the base.

  • Patent number: 7699492
Abstract: A lighting device is disclosed. The lighting device can be battery-powered and can include one or more LEDs within a light source housing. The device can also include a base connected to the light source housing, and a clip removably connected to the base. The base can act as a stable support for the lighting device when the lighting device is positioned upright over a flat support surface with the clip disconnected from the base. Similarly, the clip (or the clip in conjunction with a portion of the base) can act as a stable support for the lighting device when the lighting device is positioned upright over a flat support surface with the clip connected to the base. The clip can be configured to releasably connect to the base in a first orientation and a second orientation substantially opposite to the first orientation.
