  • Patent number: 7266953
Abstract: A condensing assembly for urging condensation of a vapour into a liquid has a vertically stacked modular array of horizontal condensation units exposed to a heat transfer medium. Each condensation unit has a cooling chamber, a plurality of hollow legs and necks accessing the cooling chamber to define a fluid passageway. An open or enclosed space between vertically opposed condensation units is created by coupling the necks and legs of opposed condensation units. Introduced vapour travels along the fluid passageways and through the cooling chambers for condensation into liquid, which then travels along the fluid passageways to a storage tank. A cooling loop in each cooling chamber increases condensation. Vapour funnels in the condensation units along the fluid passageway reduce vapour to liquid contact therealong. An inlet header provides additional cooling to the vapour prior to entering the condensation units.

  • Patent number: 6994336
Abstract: A cutting board has a cutting platform and a clamp assembly to securely mount the cutting board to a counter edge. The cutting platform has an elevated planar cutting surface supported on a narrower base. The cutting board includes a removable receptacle for location over a sink, and hook features for hanging trash bags. The cutting board uses the narrow counter space located at the front of the sink to provide a useful cutting or chopping surface. The board occupies very little sink space and allows access to the sink and water taps for other washing chores once it is mounted to the counter. The clamp assembly hooks or clamps around the counter edge to prevent the cutting board from toppling during use.

  • Patent number: 6892427
Abstract: A clip for retaining an accessory on an edge of an automobile member has a block element for location adjacent the edge of one side of the automobile member. The clip has a plug for engaging a hole in the accessory and extending into an aperture in the block element, and a jaw for engaging the block element and a second opposed side of the automobile member. The clip is secured to the automobile member's edge by inserting a fastener through the jaw and into the block element and tightening the fastener. The fastener also engages and fixes the plug within the block member, thereby securing the accessory to the block portion and thus to the automobile member's edge.

  • Patent number: 6764404
Abstract: An improved drive shaft connecting device, including a novel shear bolt (50) for connecting two ends or flanges (42, 44) of the drive shaft connecting device in a manner whereby the separate parts of the drive shaft connecting device are securely connected to each other and are yet free to disconnect from each other and rotate relative to each other in the case of an overload condition on the drive shaft or drive shaft connecting device. The shear bolt is double ended (i.e. threaded on both ends) and shouldered on both ends. The threads on each end allow the two flanges of the drive shaft coupling device to be pulled together to a pre-determined distance, which, together with a shear point (60), is set by the distance between the opposing shoulders (52) on either side of the shear bolt As well, the flanges of the drive shaft coupling device are designed to accept the shear bolts in slotted openings (46, 48).

  • Patent number: 6752192
Abstract: A system for releasing and separating labels from containers has a releaser for mixing the containers with introduced fluids and for providing the containers with a sufficient retention time and agitation to clean the containers and release the labels therefrom. The system further includes a separator for receiving the containers and labels from said releaser. The separator has an inclined base with a plurality of counter-rotating rollers adapted to urge the labels and introduced fluid away from said containers. The rollers are spaced to encourage some of the containers to become wedged therebetween to enhance performance of the separator.

  • Patent number: 6745502
Abstract: A rubber tired railway plow (100) has a plow unit (102) mounted to a plate (111) which extends across the forward end of the rubber tired vehicle (100). The plow unit (102) is attached so as to be movable on the plate (111). Wedges (122, 123) are used to maintain the plow unit (102) in position on the plate (111). When the wedges (122, 123) are removed, the plow unit (102) is movable on the plate (111) from one side of the vehicle (100) to the opposite side thereby to be able to plow on either side of the rails (141).

  • Patent number: 6623252
Abstract: A hydraulic submersible rotary pump and drive assembly is deployed and recovered through production tubing or casing using metal hydraulic tubing lines. The assembly is used in conventional oil and gas well bores, but is particularly advantageous in slant or horizontal applications for artificial fluid lift or water injection. It eliminates mechanical drive shafts running from surface, and allows rotary pumps to be changed without pulling the production tubing. The torque neutralizing drive assembly incorporates a ported connector sub to attach a submersible hydraulic drive motor to a submersible rotary production pump, a conventional pump seating nipple in the production tubing, and a seating cup assembly on the drive to seal the pump discharge from the pump suction within the tubing. Alternately, the assembly is used with a pack-off assembly to seal against a production casing or open hole when it is desirable not to use production tubing.

  • Patent number: 6543554
Abstract: There is provided an adjustable housing for use with a drill string for controlled directional drilling of a well hole. The housing includes an upper sub and a lower sub each having a first portion extending along a primary axis and a second portion extending along a secondary axis offset from the primary axis by a predetermined angle. The second portions are rotatably mounted together such that the secondary axes of the respective upper and lower subs are coincident. The upper sub is thus rotatable in relation to the lower sub between a bent position wherein the primary axes of the upper and lower subs are misaligned and a parallel position wherein the primary axes of the upper and lower subs are parallel to each other. A locking member is slidably mounted on splines extending radially from the second portion of the upper sub such that the locking member is slidable between an engaged position and disengaged position.
