    Abstract: Loose fill packing material comprising a plurality of expanded, resilient, thermoplastic dunnage particles, which particles are rendered more effective by coating an outer surface thereof with an additive which additive results in the packing material having improved cushioning properties and reduces the tendency of articles to migrate through the dunnage particles, wherein the particles have an average maximum cross-sectional dimension of at least 0.5 inch.
