  • Patent number: 6417435
Abstract: An audio—acoustic proficiency test method transduces, captures, measures, compares, analyzes, records, and reports on the actual performance of at least one performer's produced orderly sound sequence (pitch and rhythm). It also issues proficiency performance certificates, certified copies of the audio—acoustic performance, performance growth and statistics, or player rewards in game modes, lessons or practice scheduling and training through a transport means selected from the group of the Internet, television, and a computer network. The apparatus comprises a performer or sound generation source, transducer, central processing unit, random access memory, archival storage unit, output printer, user display and user input devices.

  • Patent number: 6378886
Abstract: A locking anti-theft device operates between any paired collapsedly opposed members of a folding wheelchair to selectively prevent folding. Each end of the anti-theft device is attached, either permanently or removably, to any paired collapsedly opposed members of the wheelchair such that when the device is in the locked position the central pivot point, about which the left and right portion of the device are pivotally attached, is restricted from pivoting thus preventing the wheelchair from folding.

  • Patent number: 6279837
Abstract: This multipurpose device for dispensing paints or chemicals replaces aerosol cans and custom equipment for spraying paint. Constructed of stainless steel, brass, and Teflon®, the reusable chemical caddie can be used to dispense solvents, paints, and a broad range of materials which will not corrode stainless steel. The reusable chemical caddie eliminates the contamination of the atmosphere with traditional propellants, utilizing compressed air as a propellant. The reusable nature of the reusable chemical caddie eliminates the contamination that results from residual toxic materials and that are invariably discarded when traditional spray cans are discarded into landfills. It is portable, and with an increased capacity as compared to traditional spray cans, is ideally suited for commercial applications.

  • Patent number: 6184786
Abstract: An unacceptable number of police, fire, ambulance and other emergency personnel are killed or injured when they pull over to the side of the road and exit their vehicle. These accidents occur when passing vehicles are not aware that an occupant is exiting the vehicle, and these passing vehicles travel too close to the stopped emergency vehicle. Inventions that automatically illuminate an open door call attention to emergency personnel responding to hostile situations involving gunfire, placing emergency personnel at risk. Safety features need to be easily disabled in order to protect the occupants as they exit an emergency vehicle in such hostile situations. This invention places blinking hazard lights in the doors of an emergency vehicle so that when any door is opened, the exposed rear facing surface of the door contains a hazard light that is selectively activated in order to blink in concert with the emergency lights on top of the emergency vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6109295
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved valve which achieves high reliability through a simplicity of design, a minimum number of parts, a unique valve seat with a two stage sealing action, and at the same time provides a large flow when in the open position, owing to a large cross section opening. The valve features an improved sealing efficiency, in that when in the closed position an increase in pressure on the valve improves the performance of the valve, rather than increasing the likelihood of a leak. The valve is designed to be used in applications which permit the flow of material beyond the valve mechanism to discharge freely, whereby the discharged material activates a float mechanism so as to permit the valve to close when the discharged material reaches a preset level.
