Abstract: A flexible screen mounted to pneumatically seal the sides of an opposing belt conveyor system in a porous pack curing oven. Fixed to the upper belt structure and drapingly sealed to the lower belt structure, the screen impedes curing gases directed through the foraminous belts and porous pack therebetween from exiting through the edges of the pack. The draping screen provides a seal over a range of belt-to-belt spacing.
Abstract: A vertical standpipe which has an internal fitting. The standpipe conveys a molten glass stream from a molten bath in a furnace forehearth to a spinner below the forehearth. The internal fitting has an orifice positioned so as to maintain a spaced-apart relationship between the interior surface of the standpipe and the molten glass stream issuing from the orifice. The mass flow rate of the molten glass stream is throttled by variable cooling means in the vicinity of the orifice.
Abstract: An annular blower which has an internal baffle. The blower is used to attenuate glass fibers centrifuged from a spinner in a rotary fiberizer process. The internal baffle directs and uniforms gas flow in the blower and decreases turbulent flow conditions in the gas flowing from the periphery of the blower.
