  • Patent number: 5942858
Abstract: An apparatus supplies an ohmic, inductive or capacitive load with needle pulse trains in which each individual pulse has a duration of less than 1 millisecond. Due to pulse amplitudes which are by far higher in relation to the nominal voltage of the load, considerable increases in efficiency can be achieved, however, without damaging the load or impairing its useful life. The needle pulses are of constant amplitude and the same polarity. The ratio between pulse voltage and nominal voltage is always higher than 1.7.

  • Patent number: 5928608
Abstract: Swimming pool or drinking water is chlorinated by the use of an intermittent spray-type chlorinator assembly. The chlorinator assembly includes a chamber for holding a quantity of solid dry chlorinating chemical, typically in the form of briquettes or pellets. The water spray impacts, abrades, and dissolves the briquettes to a degree, and at a rate which is controlled by the velocity of the spray; the diameter of the support grid; the percentage of open space in, and the thickness of the support grid; and the cyclic timing of the spray. The chemical-water mixture falls into a chamber below the spray and is evacuated therefrom through discharge/check valve assembly to a return line that leads back to the source of the water being chlorinated. The spray duration times and the intervals therebetween can be selectively changed by an attendant.

  • Patent number: 5896993
Abstract: Pourable products such as pool chemicals are packaged in a rectilinear stackable receptacle assembly. The receptacle assembly includes an upper cover or lid which includes a stacking recess into which a second receptacle assembly can nest. The receptacle assembly also includes a lower bucket portion which includes a continuous sidewall forming a rectilinear shape. The cover and the bucket side wall include interlocking members thereon which securely attach the cover to the bucket when the cover is pressed down against the bucket. The cover may include a pivotable bail handle, and also includes opposed side handles. The receptacle may include wheels partially located inwardly from one of the walls and upwardly from the bottom of the bucket.

  • Patent number: 5823345
Abstract: A modular stackable receptacle for pool chemicals or the like includes an upper cover and a lower container portion. The cover includes a continuous rectilinear sidewall having a latch ring on an inner surface thereof. An upper surface of the cover includes a product dispensing pour spout which receives a removable closure cap. The upper surface of the cover also includes a raised crown portion which is coplanar with the closure cap. Both the closure cap and the crown portion have stacking and aligning projections which cooperate with respective recesses formed in the bottom wall of the container portion, which recesses facilitate stable stacking of the receptacles, one atop another. The container portion has a continuous sidewall which includes an upper outwardly projecting rim and an outwardly projecting catch ring that is adapted to interlock with the latch ring on the cover, whereby the cover cannot be readily removed from the container.

  • Patent number: 5817544
Abstract: A method for improving adhesion from a leadframe to a metallic wire is disclosed including using a laser beam to remove selected areas of an package adhesion enhancing layer to expose a layer on the leadframe which has a higher adhesion to metallic wires. The package adhesion enhancing layer is from the group consisting essentially of aluminum oxide, anti-tarnish finishes, and dielectrics. The exposed layer on the leadframe is selected from the group consisting essentially of silver, nickel, palladium.

  • Patent number: 5754445
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of managing and distributing power from a supply of limited of power is described. A plurality of outlets are connect to a plurality of power units. As additional outlets are used, the invention measures the amount of power drawn by the outlets. Outlets are enabled if the amount of measured power is less than a maximum amount of power available. Additional outlets not currently in use are disabled if the amount of measured power is greater than the maximum amount of power available.
