  • Patent number: 8245845
Abstract: A disposable surgical instrument apparatus that has a generally rectangular shaped holder body with one or more elongated cylinders for retaining a plurality of surgical instruments, such as a suction device, a cautery and other instruments when not in use during surgery. One of the cylinders has a sealed chamber with a passageway that progressively decreases in diameter to accommodate a plurality of different size suction nozzle of the suction device within the chamber. One or more slotted channels are respectively associated with the cylinders for retaining hoses and electrical wires of the surgical instruments. The apparatus has a cleaning spike for de-clogging the suction nozzle of the suction device. The apparatus further has an abrasive pad for scraping char off the tip of the cautery.

  • Patent number: 8225626
Abstract: A flexible adjustable split band with indicia on the exterior surface. The interior is made of injection molded spring plastic and an exterior covering is made of material selected from the group consisting of lanyard material, polyester fabric, and other stretchable material which can be heat sealed and onto which indicia can be placed by methods such as silkscreening or weaving. The band is formed by starting with an injection molded core of spring plastic of a given width and length which is formed into a curve and is separated at its two respective ends so that gap is created between the ends of the plastic core. A covering material such as lanyard material or polyester is slipped over the plastic core and is heat sealed at one end. The covering then pulled tightly over the plastic core and cut to size and heat sealed at its opposite end. An end cap made of ABS plastic or comparable material is then affixed onto each end of the band.

  • Patent number: 8215369
Abstract: An improved sandwiched garage door panel. The first improvement is that the rear covering skin is made of 25 point embossed wood grain polyboard which is much less expensive than steel so that the cost of manufacture of the panel is significantly reduced. The second improvement is the creation of a channel within the central foam core of the panel with at least one and preferably two steel plates retained within the channel. As a result, a mounting plate of the hinge assembly which interconnects two adjacent panels can be affixed to the steel plate and thereafter the rear covering plate is affixed to the foam core to thereby conceal the mounting plate resulting in a more attractive garage door panel.

  • Patent number: 8215203
Abstract: A handlebar clamp which can be removably affixed to the transverse clamping plate of any type of bicycle thereby allowing the bicycle to accommodate a multiplicity of handlebars. The handlebar clamp can be fitted to accommodate a multiplicity of different transverse clamping plates. The clamp is held in position by a quick-release attachment to the transverse clamping plate of a bicycle. The clamp has two jaws, the lower of which has at least two different sized partial openings, one each on its upper and lower sides, so that the lower jaw, upon rotation, accommodates different sized handlebars.

  • Patent number: 8209872
Abstract: The present invention is an attachable rolling plate assembly which can be attached as a single unit to a portable cutting tool to facilitate the safe rolling movement of the portable cutting tool on the workpiece. The invention comprises a frame assembly formed from a single piece of molded material such as fiber enriched plastic having a pair of oppositely disposed longitudinal sidewalls with stabilizer fins extending therefrom, and a flat base portion having a pair of parallel stabilizer tubes molded therein. The invention further includes an adjustable bevel gear assembly by which the angle of orientation of the cutting blade can be quickly changed. The invention also includes a cutting guide assembly to facilitate a straight cut, reduce torsional rotation of the saw blade and reduce kickback of the saw.

  • Patent number: 8200313
Abstract: Using Image-based Dynamic Ultrasound Spectrography (IDUSĀ®) technology, the intrabody monitoring and positioning of an inserted catheter is achieved by coupling a thin micron-size polymeric wire to the catheter with 100-500 micron metallic cylinder attached to the tip of the wire. The area of interest is imaged and subsequently stimulated using specialized stimulation schemes delivered by an imaging ultrasound transducer. The targeted metallic tip is stimulated and emanates a unique acoustic response (signature) corresponding to its mechanical and material properties. Because of the fundamental structural differences between the targeted metallic tip and its surroundings, its unique resonant frequency signature can be analyzed and differentiated relative to the surrounding soft tissue, the wire and the catheter itself so that the location of the catheter in the body can be determined.

  • Patent number: 8187276
Abstract: The present invention is an improved unique odd angle internal fixation device for both a transverse and longitudinal fracture located at the junction of the metaphysis and diaphysis of a long bone such as the proximal humerus. The improved odd angle internal fixation device includes an elongated lag screw and a rectangular shaped guide plate having multiple holes throughout the plate to host pins and screws and four tips on the front side of the plate. A lag screw with a cylindric head having a hexagonal cavity introduced through the diaphyseal segment of the fracture at three angles, 90, and 150 and 160 degrees, cross fixing the respective bone longitudinal and transverse fracture line and settling in the depth of the epiphysis. An additional locking screw is introduced on the top of the lag screw head to securely lock the lag screw after being settled into the epiphysis.

  • Patent number: 8187123
Abstract: A portable target for a soccer goal designed with rods that enable an individual to stand on the ground and lift the portable target so that it can be lifted over the top horizontal crossbar of the soccer goal and then set in place. The target has elongated rods with curved hook attaching members designed in a manner that enables an individual to stand on the ground and simply lift the target so that the curved hook attaching members can be extended over the top horizontal crossbar of a soccer goal and then lowered onto the top horizontal crossbar of a soccer goal to be removably affixed thereto. The rod are removably retained within interior channels within the target.
