  • Patent number: 8258881
Abstract: A radio circuit may be driven by a high frequency oscillator such as a crystal oscillator that may have sleep and wake time intervals. The sleep time interval length may be adjusted. A low frequency oscillator or low power oscillator (LPO) that may experience frequency drift may regulate the sleep and/or wake time intervals. The frequency drift may be detected based on two or more LPO calibrations and/or one or more clock adjustments. The LPO frequency drift may be detected based on an LPO frequency sampled after a first LPO calibration and a corresponding LPO clock adjustment, a second LPO frequency sampled after a second LPO calibration and a time interval between the two frequency samples. The LPO may be calibrated based on the HFCXO output. Sleep time intervals may be adjusted by adding and/or subtracting a time interval to an expected time to wake the radio circuit.

  • Patent number: 8259533
Abstract: A method for determining an ultrasonic detecting cycle is provided. Firstly, an initial detecting cycle T is set. Then, a first sensing wave is generated. Then, a first time-of-flight value is calculated corresponding to the first sensing wave. After the first sensing wave has been generated for the initial detecting cycle T, a second sensing wave is generated. Then, a second time-of-flight value is calculated corresponding to the second sensing wave. Afterwards, the second time-of-flight value is compared with the first time-of-flight value. If a difference between the second time-of-flight value and the first time-of-flight value is smaller than a threshold value, the initial detecting cycle T is determined as the ultrasonic detecting cycle.

  • Patent number: 8254480
Abstract: An automatic gain control method and system for use in signal processing of OFDM symbols at a receiver. Two stages of coarse and fine automatic gain control are implemented that adjust different gains in an analog RF processing stage of the receiver. Gain of a low noise amplifier and a mixer are adjusted during a first and coarse automatic gain control stage based on feedback from a digital baseband stage. During a subsequent fine gain control period, the gain of a programmable gain amplifier is adjusted separately for each frequency band used by the OFDM symbols based on a histogram bin that counts the number of output samples of an analog to digital converter whose magnitude falls within certain ranges. Coarse and fine gains are updated after each OFDM symbol.
