Abstract: A box, and the method for use thereof, for a concentrate bag-in-box package for use with bags having a discharge tube for use with beverage dispensers having peristaltic pumps, the box having a tear flap defining a plurality of different tube opening locations, whereby different size packages can be used even though their center line does not line up with the tube passageway in the pump.

Abstract: A postmix juice dispenser for use with a disposable juice concentrate package that includes an integral progressive cavity pump and a mixing nozzle. The dispenser can read a product I.D. label on the package to automatically change ratios as packages are switched and a low liquid level indicator in the package to both warn the operator and to then provide automatic shut-off. A controller adjusts the pump motor speed in response to signals from a water flow meter to provide excellent control of ratio, even as water pressure changes. An easy lift-out refrigeration deck is located over an ice-water bath tank capable of holding 27 pounds of ice.

Abstract: An adjustable fountain dispenser merchandising system including: (1) a light-weight, adjustable framework for clamping onto a dispenser to support and anchor the merchandising system, and (2) merchandising panels removably attached to the framework.

Abstract: An inexpensive, light weight backpack beverage dispenser using standard two-liter bottles to hold the premix beverage. The bottles are connected to a two-port cap and are then connected in series with CO.sub.2 supplied to the inlet port of the first bottle and a dispensing hose and valve connected to the outlet port of the last bottle. The bottles, hoses and CO.sub.2 cylinder are contained in a light, insulated pack provided with a shoulder harness.

Abstract: A low cost, manually operated, postmix juice dispenser including a water tank manually filled with water and ice, a removable concentrate container, and a water pump and a concentrate pump connected to a manually operated pump handle.

Abstract: A postmix juice dispensing system for dispensing a finished beverage directly from a pliable beverage concentrate having an ice point at or near freezer temperatures, with little or no conditioning. The system preferably uses a one-piece, unitary, disposable package that includes both the concentrate container and a positive displacement metering pump. The disposable package is placed in the dispenser which automatically connects the pump to a pump motor. A mixing nozzle is connected to the metering pump and a water line is connected to the mixing nozzle. Upon pushing a load button, the dispenser automatically feeds compressed air on top of a piston in the concentrate container to force concentrate into the pump. The dispenser automatically reads an indicator on the package to set the pump speed in response to the type of concentrate in the package. The dispenser requires no cleanup or sanitization and allows rapid flavor change.

Abstract: A bag valve coupling member for a soft drink syrup bag-in-box container having a back-flow preventing one-way valve therein, preferably in addition to the standard self-sealing poppet valve that is biased closed and that is opened when a hose connector coupling member is attached to the bag valve coupling member. The one-way valve prevents back-filling (reuse) of the bag and syrup substitution.

Abstract: A mixing and flushing device for use on a proportioning pump of a juice tower dispenser. The device includes a housing having a water inlet connected to the pump water outlet, a concentrate inlet connected to the pump concentrate outlet, a flushing water inlet, a mixing chamber, and a single outlet from the mixing chamber. A poppet valve at the concentrate inlet to the chamber feeds the concentrate in a thin annular stream where it is hit by the water. The flushing water hits the poppet valve and automatically forces it closed during cleaning.
