Particularly preferred is the use of metal ion chelating agents based on selected amine compounds that provide the metal ion in a form sufficient to provide stability to other antimicrobial components in the aqueous composition, but without concurrently degrading the antimicrobial effectiveness of the haloalkynyl active ingredient.
