Abstract: The present invention relates to polyaddition compounds that are solid below 40.degree. C. and liquid above 125.degree. C. and contain, based on the weight of the polyaddition compounds,a) 0 to 2% by weight of free isocyanate groups (calculated as NCO; molecular weight=42),b) 3 to 16% by weight of uretdione groups (calculated as C.sub.2 N.sub.2 O.sub.2 ; molecular weight=84),c) 10 to 22% by weight of urethane groups (calculated as --NH--CO--O--; molecular weight=59).d) 0 to 20% by weight of carboxylic add ester groups (calculated as CO--O--; molecular weight=44) ande) of 0 to 25% by weight of carbonate groups (calculated as --O--CO--O--; molecular weight=60),provided that the total content of carboxylic add ester groups and carbonate groups is at least 1% by weight.

Abstract: The present invention relates to hydroxy functional polyacrylate copolymers having a molecular weight (M.sub.n) of about 2000 to 30,000 and containinga) about 1 to 70% by weight of structural units corresponding to the formula ##STR1## The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of these hydroxy functional copolymers by reacting the corresponding anhydride functional copolymers with amino alcohols. Finally, the present invention also relates to the use of these hydroxy functional copolymers as binder components in combination with polyisocyanates for the production of polyurethane lacquers, coatings, sealants, adhesives or printing inks.
