Abstract: A method for calibrating a radiation detection medium by exposing arbitrary locations of a radiation detection medium to a plurality of known radiation dose levels is described. One particular aspect of the method includes the steps of automatically determining the location of each arbitrary exposed location, measuring the density of each of the arbitrary exposed locations, matching each measurement for the arbitrary exposed locations with the corresponding radiation dose level thereby generating an array of paired data values for radiation dose level and measured density and calculating a calibration based on the array of paired data values.
Abstract: An apparatus for use in packaging containers and associated lids together includes a moveable gantry with a first support portion and a second support portion alongside the first support portion. The first and second support portions are sized and configured to support the containers and the lids. A container path and a lid path are included along which containers and lids, respectively, are directed to the gantry. The gantry has a first orientation in which the first support portion is aligned with the container path to receive containers and the second support portion is aligned with the lid path to receive lids. The gantry also has a second orientation in which the gantry is repositioned such that the first support portion is aligned with the lid path to receive lids and the second support portion is aligned with the container path to receive containers.

Abstract: A substantially circular slicer knife is provided having an interior base portion made of a first material and an outer edge portion made of a second material. The outer edge portion is metallurgically bonded to the interior base portion.
Abstract: A mixing machine includes a drive assembly and control system for making speed changes on the fly and for providing controlled acceleration and deceleration. A bowl receiving portion may be movable between a lowered position and a raised position with a power bowl lift mechanism provided to effect such movement. Advanced control features and special function modes may also be provided.

Abstract: A projection lens system that is suited to a compact, wide-angle lens system. The projection lens system projects projection light from a light modulator onto a screen, wherein the projection lens system is constructed, in order from a screen side thereof, of a first lens group with negative refractive power and a second lens group with positive refractive power and is non-telecentric on an incident side thereof, and the second lens group includes a pair of cemented doublet lenses with positive refractive power whose cemented surfaces face in opposite directions and a cemented triplet lens with positive refractive power.
Abstract: A projection zoom lens that is suited to projector with a DMD is provided. The projection zoom lens projects, onto a screen, projection light from the DMD and comprises, in order from a screen side, a first lens group with negative refractive power and a second lens group with positive refractive power. The second lens group includes, from the DMD side, a final lens that is a positive lens, a pre-final lens that is a negative biconcave lens positioned next to the final lens, and a stop, and both surfaces of the pre-final lens are aspherical. Using the projection zoom lens, it is possible to realize the compact projector that can project bright images with high resolution that makes full use of the characteristics of the DMD.
