  • Patent number: 7657213
Abstract: A doctor blade for a printer may include a cantilever spring. The free end of the cantilever spring includes a section with a first bend in one direction and a second bend in the opposite direction. Thus, a bump end may be formed which has a surface which is generally tangential to the surface of a developer roll against which the doctor blade is biased.

  • Patent number: 5643141
Abstract: A leg exerciser includes a base, two posts fixed on the base, a handle fixed on upper end portions of the posts, two swing arms respectively pivoted to the posts, and two resistance adjusting mechanisms. Each of the mechanisms includes two adjusting rods and two resilient band units. The two adjusting rods are mounted pivotally on one of the posts. Each of the adjusting rods is pivotable about a horizontal axis and is locked on a selected one of several angular positions on a corresponding one of the posts. One of the two adjusting rods extends forward from a corresponding one of the posts while the other one extends rearward from the corresponding one of the posts. Each of the adjusting rods has an inner end portion which is pivoted to a corresponding one of the posts, and an outer end portion which is provided with a lower band retainer. Each of the band units is retained on an upper band retainer of a corresponding one of the swing arms and one of the lower band retainers.

  • Patent number: 4437790
Abstract: A buoyancy compensator in the form of an air inflatable vest wearable generally about the user's chest and having a back portion encircling the user-3 s back or neck, includes an air pressure release mechanism on the vest back portion. The air pressure release mechanism may include a tube arranged to extend upwardly when the user is oriented in the normal prone swimming position. A valve located near the upper, open end of the tube may be operable by the user through a remote valve operator to release air pressure from the compensator enclosure. The remote valve operator may be positioned on the air inflation hose adjacent to the air inflation hose valve to enable one handed inflation and delfation. In one advantageous embodiment the remote valve operator is connected to the valve by a strand encased within a sleeve so that manipulation of the operator opens the valve to release air pressure.

  • Patent number: 4367039
Abstract: A wet modular film printer having a plurality of removable modules upon which film printer components are mounted including a liquid immersed, capstanless printing head. The printing head immersion liquid is continuously recirculated and filtered by means of a recirculation draw off near the top of the liquid surface and a recirculated liquid return downstream of the printed head. Liquid containing areas are all enclosed and a negative pressure is maintained to remove any noxious vapors. After printing, the liquid remaining on the raw stock and the negative is removed by a series of wipers, an air stripper and a drying column. The drying column uses heated air which flows countercurrent to the direction of film movement so that the air is progressively hotter along the film's path of movement.

  • Patent number: 4166461
Abstract: A surgical head drape of a single sheet of flexible material which is a barrier to bacterial migration provided with a pair of opposed and spaced apart side slits extending oppositely inwardly of both side edges to define a connecting tab portion integrally connecting a base sheet panel portion adapted to be inserted under the patient's head and covering the head end portion of an operating table with a turban sheet panel portion adapted to be wrapped around the patient's head with the turban sheet panel portion folded to overlie the base sheet panel portion during initial presentation (i.e., approach to the patient). The slits are dog-legged or jogged at the inner end portion thereof defining an offset connecting fold line therebetween and the drape is folded therearound to position the turban sheet panel portion on the base sheet panel portion with the leading edges of the base and turban sheet panel portions being offset so that the base sheet panel portion extends beyond the turban sheet panel portion.
