  • Patent number: 5310081
Abstract: An integral beverage can closure embodiment (50) having a sealed position for sealing the contents of an opened beverage can (30) and a dispensing position for dispensing the contents is disclosed. A resilient cap (52) with a skirt (54) closely fits over the can rim. The cap defines a tongue (56) that folds over a hinge (82) and is inserted in a slot (60) of the skirt. Both the tongue and the cap have dispensing apertures (64, 68) and vents (66, 70). When the apertures and vents align, the beverage may be dispensed. The can is sealed when the apertures and vents are displaced. The tongue is caused to move between the sealed and dispensing positions by pressing down, with a finger or thumb of the hand holding the can, on a knurled portion (86) of the tongue. In an embodiment (250), the tongue defines a lever (282) configured to be spaced from the beverage can to facilitate gripping the can and lever together. Applying force to the lever moves the tongue between sealed and dispensing positions.

  • Patent number: 5275319
Abstract: An airstream deflector apparatus including an elongated body formed of a rigid material and having a parting shape, that is a shape in which a forward facing edge is formed by symmetrical planes to present a streamlined shape which will divert the oncoming airstream to each side. In one form, the body is provided with a pivotable coupling attachment which attaches to a forward portion of the bicycle rack in front of the bicycle itself. When there is no bicycle on the rack, the pivotable coupling between the deflector body and the bicycle rack permits the body to be pivoted downward toward the rear of the vehicle into a stored position.

  • Patent number: 5249809
Abstract: A method of playing a wagering game where players successively become the "player-bank," i.e., wager against each of the other game players, is disclosed. The method offers the player-bank a plurality of wagering options to enhance player interest and involvement. A first option concerns a first process which involves the player-bank with only those successive players whose combined wagers are less than or equal to the player-bank's wager, while a second option concerns a second process which continues to involve the player-bank with successive players as long as his wager plus his winnings is not exceeded by his losses. In determining winners, players add the numerical value of cards dealt to them to find the least significant digit of the sum. The player having a least significant digit closest to a predetermined numerical goal without exceeding it is deemed the winner.

  • Patent number: 5244218
Abstract: A waste container (20) having an integral enclosure (30) with multiple compartments (32, 34, 36, 38, and 40) oriented to a pair of non symmetrically located lugs (108,110) is provided. The orientation allows for waste separated by class to be oriented with a waste collection vehicle. A cover (60) having hinged lids (64, 66, 68, 70, 72, and 72') is attached to the enclosure with a hinge (56).
