Abstract: A toy for an animal, in particular a dog, includes a bag or other hollow container. The bag has a mouth for inserting articles in the bag. After an article is inserted in the bag, a closure is utilized to secure and close the mouth. The closure and mouth of the bag are inserted in a ball to prevent an animal from chewing on the closure to open the mouth of the bag.
Abstract: There is provided a method for controlling environmental allergens in articles including toys, bedding, clothing and the like that tend to collect house dust mite and other allergens. One method involves seeding an article with house dust mites, exposing the article to conditions that promote accelerated growth of house dust mites (10, block 100), washing the article to remove house dust mites (20, block 200), testing the washed article to determine that the level of dust mite remaining in the washed article is below a predetermined level (50, block 200), repeating the washing step a number of times approximating the number of washes the article is expected to undergo during its normal useful lifetime (20, block 200) and finally passing the article through a series of quality control tests (30 and 40 block 300) so that the article may be assured as washable to control its mite and allergen levels without loss of integrity and safety over a plurality of wash cycles.
Abstract: A vane system is provided for use in a corner of a HVAC duct system. The vane system utilizes a plurality of unitary vanes each including ribs and each including interlocking runners that improve the structural integrity of the vane system.
Abstract: A new table saw control system is provided. The system shortens the time required to learn how to operate a table saw, eliminates the necessity of making conversions from one measurement system or unit to another, reduces the likelihood of error occurring during the use of a table saw, and makes a table saw safer to use. The system includes a touch control screen mounted on the fence and moving simultaneously with the fence; and, a plurality of inter-related operational menus operatively associated with the computer and displayed sequentially on the screen and including button images activated by touch to generate signals to the computer to move from one of the menus to another of the menus and to control movement of the carriage and the fence.

Abstract: A toy for an animal, in particular a dog, includes a hollow core, a fabric cover attached to the exterior of the core, a loop hold having ends secured to the toy intermediate the core and the fabric cover and having an intermediate section extending outwardly from the core and the fabric cover, and an elongate pliable piece of material fastening to and concealing the loop hold.
Abstract: A control system is provided for an exercise machine. The control system varies the resistance of the exercise machine. The control system varies the resistance based on voice commands, based on commands programmed by the user, and based on how the user performs an exercise. The exercise machine can include a pneumatic system that can produce constant or variable resistance during on exercise, can include cable exercises, can include exercises utilizing a cam, and can include a cam that can be moved between different operative positions.
Abstract: A toy for a cat comprises a grouping of feathers, felt, or fleece stitched together with VELCRO fasteners that permit the toy to be safely utilized on a lash, on a stick, or in a roly-poly toy.
Abstract: An electronic clock that produces both an analog and digital display and includes tracks that sequentially light to indicate passing seconds, minutes, and hours.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fabricating arcuate sheet metal components for HVAC duct systems passes an elongate straight preformed strip of metal between a pair of rollers to deform the strip to form arcuate sheet metal duct components.
Abstract: A system to improve the aerodynamic stability of automobiles, comprising mounting on the roof of an automobile a scaled down replica of an existing racing vehicle including downforce generating component and in which proprietary rights exist concerning the aerodynamic construction of the racing vehicle.
Abstract: A process and apparatus improves the fertility of soil, helps detoxify hazardous chemicals in the soil, and reduces erosion of the soil. The system provides implantation apparatus for injecting or implanting water and earthworm cocoons in the soil. The depth at which cocoons are implanted is selected. The temperature of the ambient air and soil at the implantation depth is selected. A determination is made with respect to whether the soil is too wet for planting. Physical soil conditions are selected. The soil in which cocoons are being implanted is evaluated to determine the selected physical soil conditions, including the presence of chemicals known to be toxic to earthworms. Worm species are selected to improve selected ones of the soil conditions. Cocoons of the selected worm species are encapsulated. The encapsulated cocoons are placed in the implantation apparatus with water. Openings are made in the soil. The implantation apparatus implants water and cocoons in the openings.
Abstract: A free standing golf putter is provided and configured to contact a golf ball at a point above the center of the golf ball. The mass of the central portion of the putter is greater than the mass of the toe and heel of the putter. The putter is utilized to view and evaluate the slope of a green by placing the putter in an upright, free standing orientation, by stepping away from the putter with the putter intermediate the golfer and hole, and by viewing the green to either side of the putter shaft.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing the risk that a thrown toy will injure an animal. The apparatus consists of a toy which when thrown bounces erratically, which compressively elastically deforms, which includes a soft fabric outer surface that compresses to absorb blows, and which can withstand being bitten or chewed by a dog.
Abstract: A power trowel is provided for finishing concrete. The trowel can be used to finish concrete at different stages of hardening. The handle of the trowel is rotated both to adjust the speed of rotation of the trowel blades and the cant of the trowel blades.
