Abstract: A power transmission apparatus for a vehicle which is used for a four-wheel drive vehicle driving both the front and rear wheels by a driving force from an engine, in which a discharge amount of a hydraulic pump provided between a front wheel drive shaft and a rear wheel drive shaft to generate hydraulic pressure by a rotation speed difference between the two rotary shafts is desirably adjusted by a remote-controllable variable throttle valve provided on the way of a discharge oil passage extending from the hydraulic pump, so that a simple hydraulic circuit is used to make the coupling of two rotary shafts freely adjustable from loose condition to tight condition.
Abstract: A gas monitor for detecting the presence of absence of a noble gas in the space between two window glazing panels. The monitor is preferably non-reactive with the noble gas, but reactive in a visible way with ambient air. When the noble gas leaks out of the space between the glazing panels and ambient air infiltrates, the monitor provides a visual indicator of the occurrence.
Abstract: A water purification system to provide uncontaminated, odorless water from a contaminated source implementing an ultraviolet chamber and sensor to ensure effective bacterial kill. A sensor shuts off water to user if ultraviolet light intensity falls below a safe minimum. A decalcification unit is provided to assure proper operation of the UV sensor.
Abstract: A component insertion tool having an electric motor which is connected to a drive shaft having an orbitally vibrating head. The component is placed in the head and positioned over the correct location on a printed circuit board. The tool is turned on and the head orbitally moves the component slightly as the component and tool are pressed toward the circuit board to insert the component properly in the board. A spring allows the head to retract while the component is pressed into contract with the board.
Abstract: A self contained hydroelectric generator which includes two fluid tanks mutually connected to a turbine generator. A volume of fluid is transferred between the tanks by either an elevator or a weight positioned within the first fluid tank. The elevator or weight is raised and lowered by inflating and deflating low density gas balloons connected thereto. As the elevator or weight is lifted by the inflated balloons, fluid is transferred from the first tank into the second tank. As the fluid moves from one tank to the other through the turbine generator, the turbines impellers rotate to cause the generator's armature to rotate within a magnetic field to produce electricity.

Abstract: The thermal transfer printer of the present invention is provided with a cam follower mounted on a thermal transfer head in one body and an eccentric cam, which is controlled within a semicircle so as to be positioned at either a first position for releasing it from the cam follower to press the thermal transfer head to a platen or a second position for pressing it to release the thermal transfer head from the platen, as a construction for pressing the thermal transfer head to the platen and releasing the thermal transfer head from the platen, whereby the mechanism for pressing the thermal transfer head to the platen and releasing the thermal transfer head from the platen itself can be remarkably small-sized and is simple in action due to its remarkably small working quantity, the printer can be small-sized as a whole and improved in reliability of operation as well as durability.
Abstract: A device for illuminating the side wall of a trailer or other vehicle for use in advertising. A transparent plate is attached to the side wall and covers an opaque coating containing advertising or the like. A light source or plurality of light sources are housed adjacent the vehicle and directed to an edge of the transparent plate which illuminates by internal reflection the opaque coating thus producing a lighted advertising.
