  • Patent number: 6156198
Abstract: The invention relates to a filter element for a fluid filter incorporating a web of pleated filtering material that is formed into a circumferentially closed cylindrical filter body, which is coaxially supported by a perforate rigid tube and the axial ends of which are sealingly inserted into corresponding annular receiving cavities provided in a rigid bottom end cap at one end and in a rigid annular end cap at the opposite end of the filter body. The cylindrical filter body has its terminal edges embedded in separate sealing rings of a flexible type of rubber or similar elastomeric material and the filter body is sealingly clamped with the sealing rings, and together with the supporting tube, removably between the rigid bottom end cap and annular end cap, respectively.

  • Patent number: 6131363
Abstract: A commercial greenhouse roof and roof glazing system that maximizes the intake of direct winter sunlight while managing spring, summer and fill sunlight to similar levels so that continuous produce and other crops can be grown. This system has transparent corrugated roofing sheets with north and south facing sections running in an east/west direction, where portions of the outer face of the outer glazing sheet are coated, insulation separates each sheet at locations of top surface coating, gas spaces separate each sheet at locations of no coating, and reflective material coats the interior surface of the interior sheet at portions of insulation. This system has no moving parts other than the movement of the sun in relationship to the structure. The color of the sunlight spectrum is split in the summer months so that the photosynthetic active portion is maximized in summer months leaving the unwanted summer heat gain outside of the structure.

  • Patent number: 6126086
Abstract: An oscillating capillary nebulizer with electrospray which is capable of nebulizing a liquid sample flow at microflow and normal liquid flow rates. The oscillating capillary nebulizer with electrospray comprises a pair of coaxial capillary tubes which are friction-fit mounted by way of peek tubing ferrules. A source of electric potential is connected to the inner capillary for production of an electric field in the vicinity of the distal end of the inner capillary. The dimensions of the inner and outer capillary tubes are such that an annular spacing is created between the inner surface of the outer capillary tube and the outer surface of inner capillary tube. A liquid sample is introduced into the nebulizer through the inner capillary tube. A gas flow path is provided by the space between the inner and outer capillary tubes. The gas enters the gas flow path through a port in the side of the outer capillary tube. At least the inner capillary tube is made of flexible material.

  • Patent number: 6119852
Abstract: Cuboidal pack made of (thin) cardboard, in particular hinge-lid box, having a box part (11) and a lid (12), it being the case that a sleeve (28) is provided on a box side wall (18), in the region of the box part (11), and encloses a lighter (27) or the like. The sleeve (28) and the parts thereof--flaps (30, 31)--are parts of a blank (10) for the pack. Furthermore, a supporting flap (29), which is also formed from the blank (10), is provided in the plane of a base wall (19).

  • Patent number: 6110365
Abstract: A filter, in particular, a fluid filter of the "spin-on" type, comprising a head with an inlet space and an outlet space and with a coaxially extending connecting spigot, a housing with one open end, said housing containing an annular-cylindrical filter element and having a terminal edge that confines said open end and sealingly engages a groove provided in the body of said head and positioned coaxially around said connecting spigot, as well as an annular disc-shaped intermediate piece screwed onto said connecting spigot and supporting said filter element. An edge portion of said intermediate piece extending beyond said filter element is screwed into said housing and is provided with passage openings. Head, intermediate piece and filter housing are sealingly assembled with one single ring.
