Abstract: The invention relates to a masking system (1) for the masking of a crank chamber (2) of an internal combustion engine (3) during a surface treatment of a cylinder running surface (4, 41, 42) of a cylinder bore (5, 51, 52) of a cylinder (6, 61, 62) of the internal combustion engine (3). The masking system (1) includes a hollow masking body (7) with a connector segment (71) for the connection of the hollow masking body (7) to the cylinder bore (5, 51, 52) as well as a screen segment (72). In accordance with the invention, the hollow masking body (7) is configured such that the connector segment (71) of the hollow masking body (7) can be positioned on the cylinder bore (51) of the first cylinder (6, 61) at the crank chamber side during the surface treatment of a first cylinder (6, 61) of the internal combustion engine (3). The invention further relates to the use of a masking system (1) in accordance with the invention.

Abstract: A system for facilitating memory and application management on a smartcard the system includes a client having a number of applications and a smartcard having specification logic allowing file structures and security and access conditions to be defined using a set of common commands. Each application has a corresponding group of data on the smartcard. An applet instance is created for each application and corresponding group of application data. At the time of instantiation, the specification logic allows an application to specify the file structure and/or to specify security and access conditions for its group of data. An application can utilize passcode and credential management so that a single passcode is used to access the smartcard regardless of whether the application utilizes the common commands to specify a file structure.

Abstract: A disk array system capable of efficiently cooling the canisters and achieving the high-density mounting of the canisters without reducing the number of canisters is provided. In the disk array system having a HDD box which stores a plurality of canisters, a canister on an upstream side of cooling air and a canister on a downstream side of the cooling air both standing upright are arranged with a difference in level therebetween in the HDD box. The canister on the upstream side has a reliability assurance temperature lower than that on the downstream side, and a disk size of the canister on the upstream side is smaller than that on the downstream side. Also, the canister on the downstream side is arranged higher than that on the upstream side so that an alarm indicator LED and a ready indicator LED can be checked visually.

Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention allow a second end-point determination (EPD) system to actively control the end-pointing of a semiconductor process chamber, by leveraging a legacy EPD system that is already integrated with the chamber. In one embodiment, the second EPD system controls a shutter that regulates the amount of light transmitted between a plasma light source and an optical emission spectroscopy (OES) sensor of the legacy OES EPD system. In this embodiment, the legacy OES EPD system is pre-configured to call end-point when an artificial end-point condition occurs, i.e. the intensity of light falls below a pre-set threshold. When the second EPD system determines an actual end-point condition has been reached, it closes the shutter which, causes the light intensity being read by the OES sensor to fall below the pre-set threshold. This in turn triggers an end-point command to the chamber from the legacy OES EPD system.

Abstract: The present invention provides biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of endometriosis. Generally, the methods of this invention find use in diagnosing or for providing a prognosis for endometriosis by detecting the expression levels of biomarkers, which are differentially expressed (up- or down-regulated) in endometrial cells from a patient with endometriosis. Similarly, these markers can be used to diagnose reduced fertility in a patient with endometriosis or to provide a prognosis for a fertility trial in a patient suffering from endometriosis. The present invention also provides methods of identifying a compound for treating or preventing endometriosis. Finally, the present invention provides kits for the diagnosis or prognosis of endometriosis.

The present invention is also useful for differentiating between a clinical subtype of IBD such as Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) using a statistical algorithm and/or empirical data. Abstract: This invention is a new and distinct grapevine variety denominated ‘IFG 68-175’. ‘IFG 68-175’ is characterized by producing large bright red, crisp, uniform berries with high sugar content borne on medium size clusters. The fruit ripen and are commercially harvestable from late August to mid-September. Berries color fully even under adverse conditions and do not darken excessively throughout the harvestable period.
