  • Patent number: 6732840
Abstract: A brake cable connecting apparatus of a brake-actuating mechanism for a drum brake is mainly composed of a brake lever (22) and a strut (21). A cable end (24a) of a brake cable (24) is snapped into a free end (22e) of the brake lever (22) when the brake cable (24) is pulled in the cable operating direction against a spring force of a return spring (15) and disassembled therefrom when the brake cable (24) is removed from the free end (22e) while the brake lever (22) is pressed by a tool (30). A guide section (22h), for supporting a top of the tool (30), is formed on the brake lever (22) at a side relative to the cable releasing direction.

  • Patent number: 6654868
Abstract: Conventional information storage systems are subject to numerous practical constraints such as contiguity in the physical locations of blocks and the requirement that storage blocks be created in advance. Information retrieval in these systems has required the creation of indices, which take a long time to generate, and the structure of these systems makes them prone to deadlock because the indices are updated and the range of exclusion broadened when the referent information is modified. This invention utilizes the random access facilities of semiconductors to achieve high speeds and minimize the maintenance load. This invention introduces location tables and alternate-key tables to replace these indices. It also stores multiple records in a single block and can handle variable-length records and spanned records. The location tables manage the storage blocks.

  • Patent number: 6651444
Abstract: A method of easily deforming a plate-shape vacuum insulation material and producing a smaller but highly effective insulation container, comprising steps of inserting a thermoplastic open-celled rigid foam as a core material into a packet composed of gas barrier film, evacuating and sealing the packet so as to produce a vacuum insulation material, heating and softening the vacuum insulation material so as to deform the same, and cooling the vacuum insulation material so as to cure the same, and also a freezing and refrigerating container having Peliter element.

  • Patent number: 6651782
Abstract: A brake cable connecting apparatus having a cable end insertion groove 120a formed by U-like folding the free end of a brake lever 120 on one of brake shoes 1, 2 and a guiding member 150 provided onto the cable end insertion groove 120a. The guiding member 150 tends to move toward the bottom of the insertion groove 120a by a coil spring 160. When the cable end 142 is advanced in the insertion groove 120a, the guiding member 150 moves upward, passage of the cable end 142 is permitted by displacement of the guiding member 150 in a direction away from the bottom of the insertion groove 120a, then the guiding member 150 immediately moves downward, thereby engaging a backward surface of the cable end 142; therefore, restricting the cable end 142 from coming off.

  • Patent number: 6640936
Abstract: A brake cable connecting apparatus is structured to prevent the inadvertent disengagement of a cable end from the brake lever while transporting a drum brake. The bridge portion (11e) of the strut (11) extends above the free end (12e) of the brake lever (12) leaving a clearance (23), being smaller than the cable end (16a), therebetween. When the brake lever (12) rotates to the predetermined degree, the clearance (23) becomes larger than the cable end (16a) so that the cable end (16a) is able to pass through the clearance (23) between the bridge portion (11e) and the free end (12e).
