  • Patent number: 6529565
Abstract: Since in a demodulated base band signal in an FSK receiver, etc. usually a DC offset is produced due to a frequency difference between a transmitter and a receiver, etc., which lowers demodulation margin, a circuit is constructed for detecting an error in a center level thereof to correct same in a simple manner. In this circuit, a bit synchronizing signal, which is at a beginning of a the base band signal EB is sampled twice with an interval of 1/(baud rate) sec and an average of two sampled values is obtained by applying sampled output pulses thus obtained to a holding capacitor in a hold circuit. In this way the error in the center level is detected and the center level is corrected by subtracting it from the base band signal in a subtracter.

  • Patent number: 6493947
Abstract: The invention relates to scissors. Hitherto scissors have been formed with rigid and identical handles to allow use in either hand, but with some discomfort to the user, or with handles specifically shaped to suit a right-handed or a left-handed user, but not both. The object of the invention is to provide a pair of scissors able to be used in comfort by both right-handed and left-handed users, an objective met by a construction comprising blades and associated handles pivotally secured together, the handles forming respective finger and thumb bows that are symmetrical about the center plane at the mid-point through their thickness, at least one (thumb) bow being formed as a rigid structure from the forward end towards the pivot to a point along the length of that bow, from where the at least one (thumb) bow has a rearward part formed from a form-stable but resilient and/or flexible material.

  • Patent number: 6338513
Abstract: A multi-component lifting assembly is provided for a container which carries cargo. The container includes a floor, opposite side walls extending upwardly from the floor, and a roof sheet attached to upper ends of the side walls. The lifting assembly is attached to the walls and to the roof sheet such that four-point lifting stability is provided when the container is lifted by an overhead crane. The lifting assembly includes a stacking header which spans the width of the container, an inner cap which is provided on an interior of the container, and an outer cap which is provided on the exterior of the container. The roof sheet is sandwiched between the outer cap and the stacking header. The side wall is sandwiched between the outer cap and the inner cap. Aligned apertures are provided through the outer cap, the roof sheet, the stacking header and the inner cap such that a bayonet can be inserted therein and the container can be lifted.
