    Abstract: A cycle accessory, for example a double lever 2, 3 for controlling a derailleur, is carried by a support 4 defining a fixing tab 11 received and wedged in a cavity of complementary shape which may be defined by a part 1 of the frame and a bridge member 14 brazed on the frame. The arrangement is such that, when a force is exerted on the accessory in the course of use, this force tends to increase the wedging between the fixing tab 11 and the cavity. Applicable to any accessory for a cycle.

At the patient end a positive locking connection is made to the endotracheal tube or the like, and a secure connection permitting a certain degree of turning without twisting of the inner tube is provided.

    Abstract: Apparatus for the non-invasive disintegration of kidney stones and the like. An ellipsoidal reflector open at one end is positionable against the body, and may have a diaphragm across the opened end to prevent leakage of water contained in the reflector. A spark gap is located at the first focal point of the ellipsoid, and sonic aiming means is physically interconnected with the ellipsoid for aiming the ellipsoid at the kidney stone or the like to locate the kidney stone at the second focal point of the ellipsoid. A series of sparks discharged across the spark gap generates a succession of shock waves that travel through water in the reflector, and through the body to impinge on the kidney stone or the like and thereby to disintegrate the same.

    Abstract: A shop press that includes a fixed-height table capable of supporting a workpiece. A ram assembly is mounted for vertical movement over the table. The ram assembly carries a fluid power head, and is arranged to permit the head to be moved horizontally so as to position the head at any desired location relative to the device table and a workpiece carried thereon. A system for vertically moving the ram assembly includes a cable arrangement connected between dual drums on the table and pulleys journaled on ram assembly legs. As the cable is wound upon or let off the drums, the ram assembly is moved upwardly or downwardly. A slip clutch and brake assembly permits the ram assembly to be moved upwardly without the interference of frictional force, but a frictional drag brake action is applied as the ram is moved downwardly to control such downward movement.

    Abstract: An adjustable exercise apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a pair of elongated handle members capable of being grasped by an exercising individual. The handles extend, in cantilevered fashion, from a support bar which is disposed substantially horizontally. The horizontal bar is connected to a vertical pillar by a vertical angle adjusting arrangement and the pillar is mounted upon a stationary base. The vertical angle adjusting arrangement permits the horizontal bar and connected handles to be adjusted into any one of a plurality of mutually parallel positions angularly spaced apart from one another in respective vertical planes. When the handles are adjusted into angular positions out of the horizontal, the difficulty of exercise is increased, and increased exercise benefits are obtained. In another embodiment, a set of overhead pull handles are also provided.

    Abstract: A drum tensioning system adapted to place a minimum of stress on the drum shell has a plurality of C-shaped clips acting on the counterhoop to apply tension to the drum head. The head passes over a cylindrical side wall which has flanges extending radially outwardly. The tensioning bolts pass through apertures in the flanges directly beneath the C-clips and are threaded into the base of the C-clips. The C-clips and counterhoop have mating surfaces which provide stability to the system. The side wall is attached to the drum shell.

A receiver and drive unit is operatively coupled with the motor and comprises a receiver responsive to the infrared pulses for developing a corresponding received command signal, a discriminator circuit for determining whether the received command signal corresponds to the command signal for normal rotation or reverse rotation and for producing a corresponding forward rotation or reverse rotation control signal, and a drive circuit responsive to the control signal for causing rotation of the electric motor in the corresponding direction.

    Abstract: An oil type damper for braking and absorbing the opening-closing motion of a lid in a cassette tape recorder, video recorder or the like is improved by incorporating therein a flexible membrane formed in a structure symmetrical with respect to the obverse and reverse sides thereof, interposed between a housing and a braking disk, and adapted to absorb thermal expansion of oil and produce a sealing effect and, at the same time, causing the shaft projected from the braking disk for supporting the flexible membrane in place to contain a flared base radially diverged downwardly. Since the flexible membrane has a structure symmetrical with respect to the obverse and reverse sides thereof, the possibility of incorrect assembly of the oil type damper is minimized and the operational efficiency of damper production is increased without sacrificing sealing effect.
