Abstract: A fire barrier fabric further comprising a multilayer fabric having at least two layers, including an outside layer and a fire barrier layer; wherein the fire barrier layer provides flame-retardant and/or flame-resistant properties to the entire fabric without requiring fabric coatings or treatments to provide any contribution to flame retardance or resistance, wherein additional layers may include a filler layer, and wherein the fabric is applied to articles, such as upholstered articles and mattresses.
Abstract: A three dimensional spacer fabric including a unitary, integral spacer fabric formed from interknitted layers, including a first layer of fabric, a second interconnecting layer and a third layer of fabric, wherein the third layer further includes loops of yarn protruding outward with loop apex points providing a looped surface on one side of the fabric for functioning with hook-and-loop type fasteners, and methods of making said fabric.
Abstract: A walking aid device for assisting a user to walk by presenting a true 3-D obstacle that is automatically activated during normal use of a cane or walking support, to which the device is attached proximal to the floor end, and during use when in an extended position is non-parallel to the floor surface, is perceived by the user to be an obstacle over which the foot on the same side of the user's body must step. A method of use providing for attaching the device to the cane or walking support and using it in a cycle that produces a walking-type motion for the user.
Abstract: A biometric fingerprint device for preventing fraud based on the device having standalone, self-authentication of the identity of predetermined user(s) and its interactivity with a database that is initiated via a controlled singularity of registration, i.e. contemporaneous registration of a user's fingerprint(s) into a database and registration, initialization, and authentication of that same fingerprint(s) onto a standalone biometric fingerprint device.
