Abstract: A control for a hydraulic propeller pitch actuator includes a low power pilot valve responsive to digital electronic input signals to control movement of a hydraulic servomotor driving a higher power servovalve. Negative feedback motion is delivered from the servomotor to both the pilot valve and the servovalve.

Abstract: This invention relates to a clutch mechanism for selective power transmission between starter means and an engine. More particularly, the invention discloses a dual clutch mechanism for use in selectively coupling a turbine driven starter assembly with a gas turbine engine to affect engine start up and disengage thereafter. The invention provides a clutch mechanism, comprised of two clutches in series, which can deliver positive torque transmission from a starter to an engine at any speed within an operating range and disengages at any speed greater than the operating range.
Abstract: An improved rolling element bearing assembly is provided which is particularly applicable for use in gas turbine engine gearboxes. The rolling element bearing includes an inner ring mounted to a rotatable shaft and an outer ring mounted to a stationary structure. The inner and outer rings define a raceway for a plurality of rolling elements. The rolling element bearing assembly includes the bearing and a compliant anti-rotation ring compressed between the bearing outer ring and the stationary structure. The compliant ring provides improved frictional engagement and improved bearing damping between the bearing outer race and the stationary structure preventing outer ring rotation within the stationary housing.
