  • Patent number: 7160198
Abstract: A novel method and apparatus for teaching a user to swing a golf club is disclosed herein. A plurality of lasers are movably and securably attached to a golf club. The lasers are set at an angle away from the shaft of the club, said angle being determined by a calculation based on the swing characteristics of the user. The user places a golf ball slightly in front of a visible guideline, said guideline being positioned parallel to the user's shoulders at address of the ball and extending behind and in front of the ball. The plurality of lasers on the shaft of the club produce a plurality of laser points that appear in relation to the guideline during the swing of the club, thereby providing the user with feedback regarding the plane of their swing and the position of the club head and club face. The apparatus is also useful for teaching a user to hit draw and fade shots.
