  • Patent number: 8285744
Abstract: Indexing agents and/or data brokers are leveraged to provide search query results related to manufacturing processes. The indexing agents allow different manufacturing configuration data types to be “sub-indexed,” allowing them to be easily searched. In one instance, the sub-indices can be aggregated together to create an overall index to facilitate in query searches of the configuration data. Separate indexing agents can be utilized for indexing contents of the configuration components for the human-machine interface (HMI) and control system and the like. Data brokers can be employed to facilitate in responding to query searches by indexing/searching real-time process variables (tags) and historical data in persistent storage. A search engine can then be employed to aggregate the search results and present them to a user in a selectable fashion. User selected results are then rendered in the proper format and displayed to the user.

  • Patent number: 8280383
Abstract: A system and methodology that facilitates triggering device scanning and efficient femtocell detection in areas dominated by macro cells is provided. In particular, the system can includes a jamming component that generates a small and measured amount of interference to user equipment or user equipments (UEs) camping on nearby macro carriers. Moreover, the power utilized to introduce the interference can be enough to cause macro signal quality around the femtocell access point (AP) to fall below a scan trigger level. The UE(s) can detect the macro signal quality decline below the scan trigger level and scan other frequency bands, including the femtocell, on which to camp. Additionally, the system can perform femto pilot gating, such that the jamming component can scan the radio environment surrounding the femto AP during an off state, to determine information that facilitates jamming of a macro pilot.

  • Patent number: 8279858
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting beacon signals in a wireless communications network. For a given cell site, a single frequency may be used for the beacon signal by assigning different beacon signal time slots to different sectors of the cell site. During one time slot, the beacon signal is transmitted to one of the sectors, and during another one of the time slots, the beacon signal is transmitted to a different one of the sectors. Because a single frequency can be used for all of the sectors of a cell site, more frequencies are available for other purposes, such as for user traffic, for example. The invention improves spectral efficiency, reduces adjacent channel interference and co-channel interference and allows power consumption to be controlled.

  • Patent number: 8280364
Abstract: A system that facilitates inter-operable communications between first responder (FR) wireless communications devices at an emergency location. The system includes an on-site tactical communications plan that is configured into a communications control device. The communications control device is part of an emergency command vehicle. First responders utilize their associated FR devices to establish a wireless IP data session with the communications control device via a macro wireless network. Once the IP data session is established, the FR device is authenticated by the communications control device. The tactical plan is then transmitted to the FR device via the established wireless IP data sessions. Once the tactical plan is transmitted to the FR devices, each of the FR devices comprises identical radio configurations and channel assignments.

  • Patent number: 8278997
Abstract: Systems and methods for reliable and efficient hot swap control are disclosed herein. The system includes a feedback circuit that senses a load voltage and enables a gate driver, in response to a difference between input and output voltages falling below a predefined threshold value. Once enabled, the gate driver instantaneously, or almost instantaneously, turns on a set of paralleled metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) in a hot swap control circuit and/or enables a load. Since the MOSFETs are switched instantaneously, or almost instantaneously, they do not operate in a linear mode and thus reliable sharing of load current is achieved. In addition, on detecting an overcurrent condition, the gate driver is disabled, which in turn switches off the MOSFETs. Accordingly, both inrush current limiting and overcurrent protection can be provided.

  • Patent number: 8279766
Abstract: A novel decentralized protocol for constructing a tree-based P2P live video streaming network with the Interior-Node-Disjoint (IND) multi-tree structure with the special Link-Level-Homogeneous property. The IND multi-tree structure recycles the wasted uploading capacities of leaf nodes in the tree-based P2P networks. The IND multi-tree structure also enhances the robustness of the tree-based P2P networks. Moreover, the special Link-Level-Homogeneous property eliminates the bottlenecks in the video delivery paths by ensuring that each downloading link in the network has identical bandwidth reserved. This special designed architecture greatly improves the downloading performance.

  • Patent number: 8279674
Abstract: Providing for a serial array memory transistor architecture that achieves high read speeds compared with conventional serial array memory is described herein. By way of example, the serial array memory can be connected to and can drive a gate voltage of a small capacitance pass transistor, to facilitate sensing memory transistors of the serial array. The pass transistor modulates current flow or voltage at an adjacent metal bitline, which can be utilized to sense a program or erase state(s) of the memory transistors. Due to the small capacitance of the pass transistor, read latency for the serial array can be significantly lower than conventional serial array memory (e.g., NAND memory). Further, various mechanisms for forming an amplifier region of the serial array memory comprising discrete pass transistor are described to facilitate efficient fabrication of the serial array memory transistor architecture.

  • Patent number: 8275354
Abstract: A rollover management system (RMS) receives and stores rollover data that includes subscriber identification and a balance of the rollover usage units that may be “rolled-over” to offset overage units used by a subscriber in excess of package plan usage units in a subsequent billing cycle. In response to receiving requests, the RMS presents rollover data elements to the requesting entities. The balance of the rollover usage units may be rolled over and measured in at least one of a plurality of billable units and may be shared by the subscriber's multiple communication services. The rollover usage units expire after a predetermined number of billing cycles where the predetermined number may vary between package plans. The RMS receives post-billing data elements to update the rollover data elements. The RMS is further operative to account for and present for review unbilled communication service usage to subscribers.
