  • Patent number: 7513118
Abstract: In a method for operating a gas turbine (11) in a combined cycle power plant (40), air is drawn in through the gas turbine (11), compressed, and the compressed air is led to a combustor (18, 19) to burn a syngas that is recovered from coal, whereby a portion of the compressed air is separated into oxygen and nitrogen. An improved degree of efficiency is achieved by virtue of the fact that a gas turbine (11) with reheating is used, which includes two combustors (18, 19) and two turbines (16, 17), whereby in the first combustor (18) syngas is burned with the compressed air and the resultant hot gases are expanded in the first turbine (16). In the second combustor, syngas is burned with the gases coming from the first turbine (16) and the resultant hot gases are expanded in the second turbine (17) and the generation of the syngas is undertaken in such a manner that the syngas that is generated can be led directly to the first combustor (18).

  • Patent number: 7513747
Abstract: A rotor (20) for a compressor, in particular in a gas turbine, has a number of rotor blades (25) which are arranged around the rotation axis of the rotor (20) in the form of a rim and are each held in a circumferential recess (21) on the rotor (20) by a blade root (26), with the blade root (26) having a widening lower part (27) which engages behind two shoulders (24) that are formed on the side walls of the recess (21). In such a rotor, the life is lengthened in that the recess depth (T) of the recess (21) is substantially greater than a minimum recess depth (Tmin) which results in the rotor (20) having sufficient strength in the area of the blade attachment for starting, based on the predetermined material characteristics of the rotor (20) and the operating conditions of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 7508376
Abstract: Provided is a pointing device that can be reduced in thickness even if a magnetic field sensor is mounted to a front face of a printed circuit board. When a support portion laterally moves, a reverse face of a flexible portion is displaced while being guided away from the printed circuit board due to deformation of a mountain fold flexure portion as a directional deformation portion. Therefore, a clearance between the reverse face of the flexible portion and the printed circuit board increases, and the magnetic field sensor can be mounted to the front face of the printed circuit board, thereby making it possible to reduce thickness of the pointing device. At the same time, the flexible portion would not be ruptured through sliding contact with the magnetic field sensor.

  • Patent number: 7508129
Abstract: In a surface mount LED, circuit patterns can be formed on selective portions of the bottom and inner circumferential surfaces of a recess in a substrate in which an LED chip is mounted. A sealant material composed of a light transmissive resin can be applied to cover the LED chip for sealing. An intimate contact interface is formed between the material of the insulator/substrate which is exposed at a portion with no circuit pattern formed thereon, and the light transmissive resin. The strength of intimate contact can be enhanced to prevent the circuit patterns and conductive adhesive from peeling off at an interface therebetween.

  • Patent number: 7504272
Abstract: A method for producing a color-converting light-emitting device is provided that can prevent the deposition of elements caused by ion migration during an electrophoresis process used to deposit a phosphor layer on the light emitting device. An anode and a light-emitting device having a semiconductor light-emitting element are disposed in a solution in which phosphor particles are dispersed. An auxiliary cathode can be disposed between the light-emitting device and the anode. A DC voltage can be applied between one electrode of the light-emitting device and the anode so that the electrical potential of the electrode is lower than that of the anode, thereby moving the particles to a surface of the semiconductor light-emitting element and allowing them to deposit thereon. The electrical potential of the auxiliary cathode is maintained lower than that of the surface of the semiconductor light-emitting element.
