  • Patent number: 3959527
Abstract: Costume jewelry is manufactured through photofabrication processes from flat metal sheets to form items such as earrings and small pendants. A standard photo-fabrication operation includes covering a metal sheet with a layer of photosensitive, chemically resistive material commonly referred to as a photoresist. Portions of the covered sheet are exposed to light to outline the earrings and pendants on the sheet. The sheet is then developed and the exosed metal surface portions are chemically etched to remove excess metal and form the earrings and pendants. Thereafter, surface treatments involve supplementary photofabrication operations to provide different colors and finishes on the earrings and pendants by etching, plating and staining the exposed metal surfaces, all of which are supplemented by the retention of portons of photoresist layers of selected colors.

  • Patent number: 3955831
Abstract: A compound trailer hitch which includes a pair of links pivotally interconnecting a pickup truck and a two-wheel type trailer. The links converge symmetrically from spaced apart positions at the leading end of the trailer to the trailing end of the truck. This convergence is such that the forward projectons of the links converge to define a pivot axis which is at the longitudinal axis of the truck and near the rear axle thereof whenever the truck and trailer are in alignment. The front portion of the weight of the trailer and the load upon it is supported upon the truck by an arm similar to a gooseneck hitch. This arm is pivoted at each end, at the truck and at the trailer, and it also slides in a groove at the truck connection to compensate for the drifting of the pivot axis defined by links which occurs whenever the trailer swings to an angle with respect to the truck, as in a turn.

  • Patent number: 3942328
Abstract: A pivotal canal gate, mounted in a predetermined size canal, opens and closes by a controllable weight movable in response to a float-switch mechanism for maintaining a predetermined level in the downstream side of the gate in the canal; water passing under the gate is directed into a dead-water pool breaking up the velocity of the flowing water, providing a control pool for maintaining a constant head over a discharge weir providing a predetermined quantity of water into the downstream canal.

  • Patent number: 3940139
Abstract: An upright rod-like wand attached to the side of a volleyball net at a selected position with respect to the boundary line of the court below the net. A volleyball striking the wand will be out of bounds. The net wand is held in place by a rubber strap having a hole at each end through which the wand is threaded, the wand being at one side of the volleyball net and the strap at the other side thereof.

  • Patent number: 3935820
Abstract: To identify a moving car for switching it from a main line to a spur, a signal indicator on the car tuned to a selected frequency activates a signal pickup apparatus which is located on the main line ahead of the spur. The signal pickup apparatus emits a radiation field sweeping a range of frequencies including the same frequency as that of the signal indicator. The signal pickup apparatus includes circuitry which responds to the activation by the signal indicator to operate the switch of the spur for the diversion of the moving car.
