  • Patent number: 6594291
Abstract: An etalon as a wavelength selection element is configured by an optical element whose transmittance or reflectivity cyclically varies, such that, of two oscillation lines of different wavelengths and light intensities in fluorine laser, when a center wavelength of an oscillation line having a stronger light intensity is situated at one selected wavelength in the element, a center wavelength of an oscillation line having a weaker light intensity is situated between two adjacent selected wavelengths in the element. Accordingly, it is possible to oscillate an ultra narrow band fluorine laser apparatus by one line only, a wavelength width of this line can be narrowed to about 0.2 pm, and the drop in laser output can be reduced. By monitoring the laser output (output characteristics) with the etalon serving as the wavelength selection element, the wavelength selected by the etalon can be adjusted so as to maximize the output of the laser output from the etalon.

  • Patent number: 6572699
Abstract: A melt level detector is provided for detecting the melt level of a CZ furnace by triangulation. The laser beam (2) from a laser source (1) is moved in radial directions of a crucible (14) in the CZ furnace to find a location where a photodetector system (5, 7) can receive the reflection (4) from the melt level (3), and the laser beam (2) is fixed at the location. Since the measurements thus take place within an extremely small angular range of the laser beam, the melt level (3) can be detected with little effect of noise on the melt level (3) while eliminating complexity of the device.

  • Patent number: 6564549
Abstract: In a direct drive type hydraulic pump, the displacement of the hydraulic pump is forcedly changed to a desired displacement according to an instruction of a channel different from a usual instruction, thereby changing to a desired displacement quickly with good responsivity. When an emergency brake switch is turned on, an emergency brake signal is entered an emergency brake control valve. Thus, an emergency brake signal pressure is entered a piston through an emergency brake signal oil passage, and a piston is forcedly positioned in a neutral position. In other words, the piston can be forcedly positioned in the neutral position according to the emergency brake signal regardless of the entry of a usual brake signal. Therefore, the displacement of the hydraulic pump can be forcedly changed to the neutral position (minimum displacement).
