Patent number: 6080530Abstract: Thermosetting, bottom-applied polymeric anti-reflective coatings exhibiting high optical density, rapid plasma etch rates, high solubility in preferred coating solvents, excellent feature coverage, and improved stability in solution are disclosed. The principal component of these new anti-reflective coatings is a polyester resin produced by the reaction of one or more difunctional aliphatic carboxylic acids with a stoichiometric excess of a di- and/or a trifunctional aliphatic primary alcohol, wherein at least one of the dicarboxylic acids may contain a reactive methylene (--CH.sub.2 --) group. The resulting polyester resin reaction product is further modified by attaching light-absorbing groups to some or all of the reactive methylene groups (if present) and/or hydroxy groups present on the resin. The dye-attached polyester resin is combined with an aminoplast crosslinking agent and acid catalyst in a suitable solvent system to form the final anti-reflective coating.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1999Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Assignee: Brewer Science, Inc.Inventors: Xie Shao, Colin Hester, Tony D. Patent number: 5836550Abstract: The invention is a mechanism for the streamwise deployment of an aircraft trailing or leading edge flap. The mechanism connects the spar and flap. There are a pair of swivel links which pivotally connect the spar to the flap. There are also a pair of slaving mechanisms which rotationally connect the spar to the flap by spherical bearings. A linear flap actuator initiates the combined pivotal and rotational action from the spar which translates into a single downward and rearward motion of the flap.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 1996Date of Patent: November 17, 1998Assignee: Boeing CompanyInventor: Carlos A. Patent number: 5327987Abstract: A hybrid-propulsion car system having one axle driven by an internal combustion engine and another axis driven by an electric motor. The waste heat of the internal combustion engine is absorbed by the engine cooling fluid, and is then heat exchanged with an evaporative fluid in a closed circuit. The evaporative fluid is vaporized by the heat of the engine cooling fluid in order to drive an expander which in turn drives an electric generator. The electric generator supplies current to a storage battery and to the electric motor.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 1992Date of Patent: July 12, 1994Inventor: Fawzy T. Abdelmalek
