The shield has a semi-circular deflector mounted at the top of a support rod. A hook is formed in the bottom of the support rod to engage the standpipe. The hook is disposed in a plane substantially horizontal to the support rod, has a slightly helical configuration, and opens in laterally with respect to said rod. Midway of said rod a brace projects from said rod substantially normal thereto and has a standpipe engaging fork in its outer end.
