Abstract: A method of vaccinating a food producing animal without producing injection site abscess comprising injecting said animal with a vaccine that comprises a bacterin, an effective amount of a compatible adjuvant, an effective amount of a non-antibiotic biocidal compound, and about 30 micrograms per milliliter of gentamicin sulfate.
Abstract: Hydrophilic contact lenses produced by polymerizing(a) hydroxyalkyl monoesters of acrylic or methacrylic acid,(b) monomers having the formula ##STR1## where R, is hydrogen or methyl, R.sub.2 is alkylene, R.sub.3 is alkoxy and n is 1 or 2, and(c) acrylic acid or methacrylic acid. Methods of producing the lenses are disclosed.
Abstract: A non-stinging composition for removing make-up from the area near the eye comprising cleanser, buffering agent, water, chlorhexidine digluconate, and phenethyl alcohol.
Abstract: An ultraviolet absorbing lens for use by aphakics formed by copolymerizing a monomer suitable for making lenses and a copolymerizable ultraviolet absorber for absorbing radiation having wavelength of 340 to 450 mmu.
Abstract: A method for making a cosmetic pencil having a lead of solvent-based cosmetic composition. The leads are packaged in an airtight container, such as a plastic bag and stored in a freezer at temperature no higher than 0.degree. for 12 to 168 hours. The leads are then stored at room temperature for at least two hours and unpackaged. Then the leads are encased in grooved slates to form an assembly which is wrapped with airtight wrapping.
Abstract: Method and means for vaccinating a mammal using a convex nozzle with an elongated tip. The mammal's alar fold is pushed aside by the tip so that vaccine is deposited behind the alar fold. Vaccine is then dispensed through the nozzle.

Abstract: Cross-linked hydrophilic interpolymers and contact lenses made therefrom comprising hydrophilic units of which the only or major proportion are derived from .Iadd.vinyl pyridine or .Iaddend.an N-vinyl heterocyclic monomer, hydrophobic units derived from the group consisting of styrene and ring-substituted styrenes, and cross-linking units derived from monmers containing two or more polymerizable double bonds per monomer unit.
