  • Patent number: 8141526
Abstract: Impurities of a lubricant in traditional camshaft adjusters can cause a problem, leading to impairment in the function and service life of the camshaft adjuster. In order to address this, flow channel areas are provided in the lubricant circuit, which include a dead chamber (37) where impurities can be deposited as a result of centrifugal force. Alternatively or additionally, a labyrinth is used to deposit impurities.

  • Patent number: 8018501
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes: interpolation G calculating units that calculate a plurality of types of G interpolation candidates Gt for an X (X is R or B) pixel of a G pixel missing position in an RGB Bayer array image; subtracting units that calculate a plurality of types of color difference candidates X?Gt based on the G interpolation candidates Gt; and surrounding similarity calculating units, a determining unit, and a color difference selecting unit that calculate a color difference similarity based on the color difference candidates X?Gt and color difference candidates X?Gt of X calculated for surrounding positions based on G interpolation candidates Gt of a same type t and that select a color difference candidate X?Gp calculated based on a G interpolation candidate Gp among the plurality of types of G interpolation candidates Gt in accordance with the color difference similarity.

  • Patent number: 7058032
Abstract: A method and strategy for transport format combination (TFC) selection and related algorithms in wireless communications. The method provides procedures used by the MAC layer in both the UE and the RNC to schedule data transmission. In the inventive method, each time the maximum transmit power is reached in a time slot, the physical layer will send a notification to the MAC layer, including the time slot number where maximum power was reached. The invention provides a low cost method and algorithm avoiding the need for the MAC to determine the power needed by each TFC in each time slot.

  • Patent number: 6679089
Abstract: An automobile anti-theft device that has its parts straddling over the spoke(s) of a steering wheel, with one side tightly wrapped around by the device, Traditional steering wheel locks, such as the trademarked product The Club®, PTO registration number 872404, allows a maximum of two cuts on the steering wheel to remove the anti-theft device and thus is not a very effective theft deterrent. The present anti-theft device eliminates the two-cuts needed to easily steal because one side of the steering wheel is completely wrapped around, allowing no cuts to be made by the would-be-thieves. Theft can only be attained by extreme force to break the present device, destroying the key/lock mechanism, or chopping away the steering wheel from the steering column.

  • Patent number: 6208630
Abstract: A power-conserving time division multiple access (TDMA) radio telephone system is disclosed in which a cluster of subscriber stations, remote from a base station, employs a common pool of frequency-agile modems each of which digitally synthesizes, on a timeSlot-by-timeSlot basis, the different channel-identifying intermediate frequencies needed to support communications between several of the subscriber stations and the base station. Power conservation is facilitated inter alia by controlling the assignment of modems to calls, maintaining unassigned modems in a powered-down state and by controlling the number of calls using the same time slot. Delay in assigning a powered-down modem to a call is eliminated by making available to all modems the highest quality synchronization information obtained by any of the active modems.

  • Patent number: 6179538
Abstract: In a screw for fastening metal sections (10) to a substructure (11), a shank (2) is provided with a threaded portion (5) and a drive portion (3) for applying a driving device. The portion of the shank (2) adjacent to the drive portion (3) flares conically toward the drive portion (3). The thread (5) engages in the substructure (11), whereby the conical portion (6) is pulled into contact with the section (10) and presses it against the substructure (11). By virtue of appropriate friction, the torque is increased to an appropriate level, and so torque-dependent stopping of the driving action can be achieved.
