Abstract: A method of removing rib plugs from steam generator tubes in energy producing units such as nuclear reactors includes the removal of the expander element or mandrel from the expanded part of the rib plug, TIG welding a bead on the available internal surface of the plug in a spiral manner from the bottom to the top thereof to relax the rib plug from its forced contact with the tube and removal of the rib plug as a unit from the tube after it has cooled down from the welding process.
Abstract: A spring clip having a flexible leg portion ending in a tab is made to be mountable in an expansion slot of a PC to allow the tab of the clip to capture either an expansion slot cover or a PC expansion card by having the tab spring into a hole found in both the expansion card and the blank cover fitting therein.
Abstract: An in-situ testing apparatus for testing the integrity of rib plugs used to seal faulty reactor boiler tubes consists of a cup-shaped member with a groove on the open end, a tapped hole for attaching a hydraulic hose of known pressure, and a hole through the top of the member. A seal is installed in the groove on the open end of the cup to seal to the primary face of a tubesheet around the tested rib plug. A threaded mandrel goes through the hole in the top of the cup-shaped member and engages the expander member of the rib plug. The threading action of the mandrel into the expander draws the seal against the tubesheet to seal the testing apparatus and allows the rib plug to be in-situ pressure tested.
Abstract: An enhanced visibility underwater waterjet cutting system is provided wherein the waterjet cutting assembly and the video camera for remotely viewing the operating system is enclosed within an enclosure spacedly set against the workpiece and a stream of clean water is injected into the enclosure to set up a flow of clean water past the camera and to the waterjet cutting tip to exhaust the cuttings away from the enclosure and camera to allow a continuous view of the cutting surface of the workpiece without clouding up the water in the enclosure.

Abstract: The present invention is drawn to a cement finishing board providing a cushioned knee support mounted on a non-cement adhering solid plastic material board which supports the knee in a contoured cushion knee pad air suspended above the board to allow the pad freedom of movement in both the x and y directions. The pad is also angled to provide an ergonomic knee support wherein the shin support pad is angled along the shin angle of the leg when the finisher is kneeling on the board and an adjustable toehold is provided to compensate for different leg lengths.
Abstract: Extruded Borated Aluminum rodlets of extended length are formed to maximize neutron absorption surface area while minimizing weight. They are located in the empty cells of a new or spent fuel assembly previously used by control rods and instrumentation with a length equal to that of a fuel rod or guide tube and control the reactivity of the fuel assembly during storage and shipment of the spent fuel assembly.
Abstract: A coding system for various I/O module elements of an I/O cabinet assembly is disclosed which is able to identify analog, digital and control I/O modules by appropriate functional representation combined with a distinct color code found on the front of each module and to identify appropriate internal field wiring connections in the identified module by the module identifying color. Each module has a written identification such as A—for analog, D—for digital and C—for control, I—for input, O—for output combined with an appropriate color bar identifying the type of module. Thus process and terminal blocks forming and I/O unit are easily matched for assembly and are easily inserted into an I/O cabinet in the proper location.

Abstract: A unique electrical connector for power and signal connections from an I/O cabinet of a control system to a block I/O assembly mounted in the cabinet to allow a blind fit of power and signal connection of power and signal connections insuring that power will be provided to the block I/O assembly before any application of signals thereto.
Abstract: An implantable hearing device for improvement of extreme partial and total hearing loss has a transducer mounted to the malleus of the ossicular chain by METABOND adhesive. The device responds to auditory vibrations of the malleus to establish an electrical signal in response thereto. For total hearing loss restoration, a speech processing unit is mounted inside the mastoid cavity having a intracochlear electrode which is inserted into the cochlea through the oval window to reach the nerve endings thereof and transmit speech signals capable of being understood by the brain. For total hearing loss a totally implantable system with a rechargeable battery, receiving antenna for remote control of on/off switch, volume, speech processor and programing is used with a biologic-electronic microphone activated by the implanted rechargeable battery to interact with implanted electronics for transmission of electrical signals from the transducer directly to the cochlear nerve endings.
Abstract: A flexible headlamp position adjusting assembly 10 employs flexible cable 14, 14' connected to a drive member 12 and the adjusting member 16. Adjusting member 16 is slidably received within housing 18 for movement and adjustment of a movable frame 26 of a headlamp. Advantageously, drive member 12 may be situated remotely from the moveable frame and/or housing 18 to allow drive member 12 to be positioned in an accessible area for control of adjusting member 16.
