Abstract: A stable, gel-form, shear-thinning cleaning composition is presented containing (a) 1 to 5 percent by weight of a polysaccharide, (b) 3 to 25 percent by weight of a C8-22 alkyl polyglycoside, and (c) 2 to 15 percent by weight of a perfume. The composition has a viscosity of 30,000 to 150,000 mPas as measured with a Brookfield RVT rotational viscometer with a Helipath spindle and TA spindle at 1 r.p.m. at 23° C. The composition is a visually attractive, translucent or clear pseudoplastic gel and useful in the cleaning flush toilets.

Abstract: The invention is a device and a method for combining at least two fluid media. The device comprises a flow region (1) which is attached to and/or formed with an opening of a first chamber (2) and which is designed to accommodate the fluid medium coming from the first chamber and to transport it to the outlet (3) of the flow region (1) which is preferably followed by a mixing zone. A second chamber (9) designed to be filled with a second fluid medium is connected to the flow region and/or to the first chamber through at least one first opening element (inlet opening) (11) for diverting part of the first fluid medium from the first into the second chamber. The second chamber is provided with at least one second opening element (second opening) (12) opening into or adjoining the flow region (1) for discharging the second fluid medium displaced into it by the first fluid medium. Several first chambers (2) or second chambers (9) may be provided.

Abstract: A composition and process for protection against infection wherein the composition containsa) 10 to 100 g/l of polyvinyl alcohol polymers or copolymers having molecular weights from 18,000 to 200,000 as the film forming component,b) 0.2 to 3 g/l of iodine in the form of polyvinyl pyrrolidone iodine and/or 5 to 50 g/l of chlorhexidine as the disinfecting agent, andc) 2 to 50 g/l of ether carboxylic acids corresponding to formula R--(OC.sub.2 H.sub.4).sub.n --OCH.sub.2 --COOH, where R is an alkyl group containing 4 to 10 carbon atoms and n is a number of 2 to 8.

Abstract: An aqueous emulsion concentrate comprising:A) a water-insoluble oil component;B) at least one hydrophilic nonionic emulsifier;C) at least one lipophilic co-emulsifier; andD) from about 50 to about 70% by weight of water, based on the weight of the concentrate;wherein components A), B) and C) are present in a ratio by weight of A:B:C of 1:(0.31-1.5):(0.31-1.5); and wherein the emulsion concentrate is flowable and pumpable at 20.degree. C.
