  • Patent number: 4315173
Abstract: A dynamoelectric machine's segmented baffle assembly comprises a baffle ring which is bolted to a back-up plate disposed in the stator core. The annular-shaped baffle ring is formed from a plurality of arcual segments, each segment secured by at least one of said bolts. For low flow rates of coolant gas, the air gap can be further reduced by means of a teflon insert located on the inner circumferential surface of the baffle ring. For expeditious access to the rotor assembly, only one of said segments need be.

  • Patent number: 4315179
Abstract: A dynamoelectric machine having two radial layers of connector ring segments arranged in the end regions of its stator. Each connector ring segment joins two coil sides embedded within circumferentially separated stator slots. Each double radial layer of connector ring segments is disposed at a discrete axial location with the connector ring segments being interspersed according to phase to minimize forces thereon.

  • Patent number: 4314173
Abstract: A mounting bracket for bracing C-shaped peripheral connecting ring segments situated in the stator end regions of a dynamoelectric machine stator structure. Mounting brackets are connected to both ends of the stator structure at desired circumferential positions. Each mounting bracket has a foundation structure which includes a base portion and a spacer retaining leg portion situated on each end thereof. A base spacer having several teeth separated slots is engageable with the base and retaining leg portions. The base spacer is secured in engagement by a bolt extending therethrough between retaining leg portions such that the slots face away from the base. L-shaped and T-shaped spacers are engageable in a cooperative configuration with the base spacer between the retaining leg portions such that the notches at the intersections of the legs of the T-shaped and L-shaped spacers cooperate with the base spacer's slots to provide channels for receiving and retaining the peripheral connector ring segments.

  • Patent number: 4309634
Abstract: A polyphase stator winding of a dynamoelectric machine including a plurality of multi-loop coils which are circumscribed about one another. Each coil has at least one loop that constitutes two coil sides (a top or radially inner conductor and a bottom or radially outer conductor) and two involuted connector rings segments. The coil sides are embedded within slots formed in a tubular stator core and the connector rings are situated on both axial ends of the stator. The slots extend radially outward from the stator core's inner periphery. The top coil sides have varying lengths, extend beyond the end of the stator core, and are positioned around the stator's inner periphery such that no top coil side has a circumferentially adjacent coil side with an identical of axial overhang. Connections between top and bottom coil sides separated by a coil pitch is provided by two connected involuted connector ring segments.
